Shame.It would've been the biggest HW fight made since Lewis/Rahman II. But all it was, was just talk from both camps. Klitschko saying he wanted the WBC belt and Wilder saying he wanted to unify. That's as far as it went.
I'd still definitely want to see it but I think Wilder has missed his chance of a big payday and will never get the cred he might have got for being first to beat Klitschko in this era. Klitschko has already had his career and done what he needed to do but I don't know if there will be a whole lot of top guys for Wilder to fight once Klitschko has gone.
On a separate note this is probably a casual fan issue due to me not fully understanding some of the ways boxing works but I don't like how more than one title can change hands at once. I don't think a challenger should be able to go from no belts to undisputed or almost undisputed champion in one fight. And also the holder of multiple World titles that have been earned in individual bouts shouldn't sudddenly become title-less after losing once (should just lose one of the titles, whichever is being contested). Different if 2 champions meet of course.
