Bro, he's projecting but yet he will find a way to turn this crap around. Kovalev was not winning this fight! But yet and still I'm the one who sees "race" in boxing. :whatever:

Yeah it's not worth all that. Kovalev was clearly rocked, and caught a few more upstairs before Ward even tried to go to his stomach. He wasn't defending or trying to throw anything, it is what it is.

I am half Mexican, half Puerto Rican, born in the US and my skin is not light. So what race am I seeing here exactly?

You guys are ignoring low blows because you wanted him to win. :funny:

Half Indian myself with an Asian wife. And I do think Ward hit Kov with a low blow. But I also think Kov "flopped" on a lot of them hoping the ref would bail him out because he was clearly exhausted.

BS. I repeat, BS. He didn't go to the body, he was hitting him low. Kovalev bent over three times before he ever got hit with the right hand. Are you just going to ignore it? Of course, because you are acting like what everyone actually saw didn't happen. :funny:

So then why assume I am white? Because you clearly think I am white and European. :funny:

Tell me, what race was I seeing? You said I was seeing race, so tell me.

He was not flopping. He kept getting cup checked, just like he was getting hit with illegal blows last time, and was not just going to fight through them again, because that screwed him last time.

I saw him composed and looking to exchange. I then saw him get rocked, in the jaw, and was on noodle legs the rest of the time. That's what I saw.

The last two at the stoppage were clearly low. The ref dropped the ball bad.

I had Ward winning 4-3 at the time of the stoppage, but like the first fight Andre was looking fresher in the later rounds. That right hand that wobbled Kovalev may be the best right hand I've ever seen Ward land.

I will admit, it is a little icky that the finishing punches were most likely low blows, but I've always tried to defend fighters whose body shots stray low. And I don't think they were intentional by Ward.

Yep, and he wasn't already hurt do to the low blows, that the ref kept waving off. And then he hit clearly low while he was on the rope at the end. But getting an honest answer out of you is never going to happen. Your NBA and boxing talk have taught me that. It is why you are ignoring everything but one punch that came after 2 illegal blows in that round.

They were clearly intentional, he has already done it 3 times in the fight, and is known for doing it.

Kovalev got hit at least 6 more times on his head before he ever got his back to the ropes. I can't believe there's some sort of conspiracy here lmao smh...

There's not talking dude. See how it's about race now? I never mentioned race but now it's all I see. Again, it is what it is. Kov was exhausted those last couple of rounds and was not fighting back. But some how this is about race. :whatever:

Kinda thought this one would be cut and dry, but maybe you're right. All I know is, he was fading fast BEFORE that round as it is. He got caught, I know it's Andre Ward, but yeah, he can hurt you every now and again.

So watched it back.

In the 7th Ward hits a low blow, Kovalev reacts, the ref says fight on.

Replay between rounds shows it was clearly low.

In the 8th Ward hits another low blow, Kovalev reacts, the ref says fight on.

Ward hurts Kovalev with a big punch after he goes back to the ropes from the low blow.

At the end of the fight, the last two punches are low blows and the ref calls the fight a knockout while Kovalev sits on the ropes. No count, just calls it.

You all are crazy.

You are the one who brought up race. You think being European is a race now? :funny:

Again, explain how I made it about race and what race I am seeing. You said it. You said I was seeing race. So explain. Or we can ask some mods, because it feels like you are implying I am racist and are continuing to imply it.

I just want to see him wreck Broner. :hehe:

Broner is overrated and that always shows out.....Maidana.....

Since I'm a cheap @$$, I'll just have to watch it in a weekend or 2 and then let ya'll know what's really up. :cwink:

I never got this idea that people need to step up to be considered the best. Stay where you are at your best and let the chips fall where they may. No need to step up in class unless you're having big time trouble making the weight.

I don't see any lightweight, let along jr. lightweight giving Lomo more than a relatively easy paycheck. Wouldn't mind seeing him fight Garcia. That "might" be interesting.

I finally saw the replay that showed the end, and the final punches were definitely low. Because of that I don't really like the stoppage as it was, but Ward was clearly headed towards a decisive victory.

Low blows clearly didn't help, but I think Kovalev was fading regardless. I don't think the stoppage stole a win from Kovalev as much as it just ended the fight prematurely.

He'd move up for money. Simple as that. No real money to be made under 147. It is why guys like Manny and Floyd moved up, even as they didn't have to cut weight for 147, let alone 154.

I don't think there's ever been a boxer in history who is getting hurt to the body and doesn't try to claim it's low. Those aren't blatant shots, they're AROUND the belt line. Its far from some sort of Andrew Golota stuff you're making it out to be.

Thank you! Unbiased opinion!

I don't think you can claim someone is fading fairly when they are getting hit consistently below the belt. There is a reason why those are illegal. The finally two were just crap frosting on a crappy cake. It was the stuff before that that started all of it.

The top of his glove landing on the belt, while the rest doesn't is borderline. And that wasn't what happened on the majority of these. Also it is amazing that Kovalev just knew when they were low as opposed to actually on the belt or higher. Also even more amazing how all these "low blows" were right down the middle.

True dat, but what I was saying is that I don't get the need to move up to be considered the best. Yeah, there's more money as you move up. No doubt. Boxing is about hype. "If" people didn't all try to push upwards and got the right hype, the money would come. That, however, isn't how the game works right now.

Conor isn't going to make a boatload of $$$ because he's a great fighter. It's because he's a showman. Ask our boys and girls who frequent the wrestling thread. You make your money behind the mike.

He may or may not have been the greatest fighter of all time, but you know who the best promoter in the history of boxing was? Muhammad Ali. Promoting an Ali fight was the easiest thing in the world. All you had to do was stand back and watch Picasso do his thing.
