I would totally buy Freddie Highmore as Jimmy as he has been a little quiet as of late from my observations. A very talented actor and August Rush has become one of my favourite films ever!!

And weren't there reports earlier of Rosamund Pike looking for a part as female lead in this film? I can really see her as Cat Grant for some reason.

I've said it before but I'll say it again because I'm bored and this needs a good bump with all the other casting threads going on.

If they cast Hugh Laurie as Perry White, I don't give a f*** who else they get. They've got my ten bucks (not as if they didn't already). Ever since the day they announced this movie, I had very little 100% LOCK picks for the cast except this one. Day 1, Hugh Laurie.

I would typically argue with 99% of the suggestions that AREN'T Hugh Laurie, but if you're going to throw RDN in my damn face....

...can't say I would argue that. A little disappointed maybe, but couldn't argue it.

I could see them landing Al Pacino as Perry White.

Maybe it's because I'm currently watching Robin Hood, but I would like too see Oscar Isaac test for a villian role in this film, especially if it's Zod. Isaac played Prince John in the latest Robin Hood and appears in Snyder's Sucker Punch. My thinking is, if your going to use Zod then switch him up a little bit from the Terence Stamp version and this actor could do that.

I doubt they'll cast a huge name like Pacino or De Niro for Perry, but hey, you never know. I just hope that if they do, they not only hire a good actor but also hire someone that suits the part.

Frank Langella is a brilliant actor but he was so horribly miscast in that part. However, I guess it's good that we know we definitely won't get anyone worse, no matter who they cast as the new Perry.

I actually think Langella was mis-directed rather than mis-cast. I'm sure Langella could have played a loud shouting Perry White if that had been asked of him.

I don't think we need De Niro or Pacino as Perry. They don't really bring anything extra to the role for the price. One more big name for one of the villains would be nice and a recognizable name for Lois would be ideal. The rest of the cast could be no name actors at that point.
