We know they're looking at DDL for Jor-El, and since no other actors have been mentioned for the part, it's possible he got it. *fingers crossed*

Assuming he doesn't, who else could compare to him in the role?

There's really no one in his age bracket that even compares. DDL is already considered one of the finest actors to ever do it. In that sense he's the only suitable choice if you're going to try and replicate Brando's casting. It'd be hard to live up to that goal otherwise.

Incidentally, Jor-El being a relatively minor role and Marlon's previous involvement, would possibly be the closest shot DDL could ever consider this movie. Part of me wants a larger role however, as I would love to see just a bit of Krypton's culture.

I actually think there's a resemblance between Jon Hamm and Henry so I would love to see Jon playing Jor-El.
That said though, it would be great to have a widely respected and accomplished actor to fill the role, it would lend to his stature.

I've said it before, as I think there is a perfect actor for NoN, if he is to be in this film.

So far as I know he is mute, so dialogue acting and delivery is not the most important factor, as is physical acting.

I'm thinking Nathan Jones. He has great screen presence, and really is good at fight acting.

He is a former WSM competitor, and has won the world strongman challenge, as well as world strength championships in the past.

His physique is that of a 1970’s type bodybuilder, and he stands 6’11’’ and 360 pounds of muscle.

If anyone has seen the opening scene of TROY, that was him, and he was also Hercules Obrien in Fearless, and TK in Protector (some of his best fight scenes). Check these out if you want to see his acting style.

Again, not suggesting him for great dialogue, but the physicality he brings to a role.

His look is very imposing as well.

I knew that, I still prefer her as Lara than Faora though. But like Superman2007 wrote, she has to deal with her son's custody so she's probably out of the picture.

If they can't get DDL to be Jor El, than I pretty sure WB's, Nolan and Snyder will still try and get a big name actor for the role.

Since DDL and Viggo were originally rumored as Zod candidates, and now a legit source from Latino has said DDL was/is up for Jor El, I think we can assume Viggo is more than likely up for Jor El as well if DDL passes.

I would like to see Crowe looked at as a Jor El candidate also.

I think she's a bad choice for both of those roles. She's a pretty girl but she hasn't shown anything remotely special about her in the acting field. As far as I'm concerned, she should stick to teen/youth based T.V. shows.

The same reason the recent fanboy suggestion of Lucy Hale as Lois was wrong. She is extremely young looking still. Doesn't matter she's older than Henry, he's look like a young sugar daddy to her.

This is the first Faora suggestion i've seen... but I doubt i'll see one I like more. She's the perfect Faora in every way, and would be a great addition to the team.

A great addition for definite, but I don't like her for Faora. Lara all the way.

Jason Isaacs- Who? (I'm not a HP fan, so I had to wiki him to find out who he was)..
Everyone casted so far has been either an Oscar nominee or winner,
so I don't see him in the running.

I've seen all those movies with the exception of Peter Pan, and I just don't remember the dude nor do I recall his name.

also is it me or are peope taking this oscar connection too serious

batman had oscar nominees in - Freeman,Caine,Neeson,Wantanabe,Wilkinson

but also got non nominees in - Cillian Murphy,Katie Holmes,and bale(did'nt have oscar nom in begins)

even in TDK eckhart,maggie(got oscar nom after tdk),Carbonell

superman already has 4 oscar nominees
