Nero Hulk could work.

For some reason he reminds me of Manganiello more than Cavill

lol he's not nearly Italian-looking enough for me to buy him as an ancestor of Manganiello's.

LOL, you wouldn't be alone. Costner had a pretty big following back in the day. I think this is pretty good casting for Pa Kent -- credible big name actor with solid acting credentials and could tap into an older demographic (Hi Mom and Dad :yay:)

Does anyone know how credible a source is Latino Review?

There aren't too many sources that are credible but Latino is up there. No one breaks stories like Deadline though.

If were thinking in terms of Oscar thesps for Jor El , i'd say Colin Firth . He looks like he could be Cavill's father and I think could do the role in his sleep, however id be stunned if he would do it.

its funny to hear the comments on hear from so many pompous self serving wannabe's criticizing the choice of Costner in this movie.

Costner is an oscar winning director who has been in some of the best movies ever made. Even his poor movies are still better than so many crappy movies made today.

You lot should consider yourself lucky to get an actor of his callibre.

give it a rest, not everyone is going to like every casting choice. don't take it so personally.

Bana would be great as Jor-El. If you've seen him in Troy, you'll know he can easily pull off that noble regal thing - which would be perfect for Jor El, the head of the house of El and a highly respected scientist on Krypton.

Casting the rest (of the supposed uncasted)

Jimmy Olsen - Josh Zuckerman (Sex Drive)

Perry White - John C. McGinley ("Scrubs", Seven, Platoon)

Lois Lane - Olivia Wilde ("House MD", Tron Legacy)

John Corbin "Metallo" - Eric Bana (Funny People, Troy, Star Trek)

Wanted to cast him as someone other than Jor-El

Lex Luthor - Jude Law (Repo Men, Sherlock Holmes)

Jor-El - Billy Crudup (Watchmen)

Emil Hamilton - Brent Spiner

Brainiac - Dominic Purcell (voice by Corey Burton perhaps?)

Hear me out. I've always seen Brainiac as a very stiff robotic creature, not in need of a ton of depth or emotion. His portrayal of Drake in Blade III really convinces me he could handle a role like this.

Toy Man - Fred Willard (I'm not seeing this character as being very serious, throwaway villain)

Just my two cents... but other than Patrick Stewart, I kinda hope I never see any cast members of Star Trek: TNG in anything again.

Well, except Will Wheaton when he's on Big Bang Theory.

How dare you imply that you aren't in love with Levar Burton!

LOL, you're right. Levar Burton rocks. He had me at Reading Rainbow.

Hey, has anyone suggested Jessica Chastain for Lana Lang? I think she'd be perfect. She has a great look for the character, and can play a sweet hometown girl really well (she was something of a Lana-like character in Stolen).

OK, maybe I'm tired of seeing the same names mentioned over and over . . . maybe I'm chomping at the bit to hear more casting news . . . maybe I enjoy stirring the (melting) pot a little . . . or maybe I'm just bored because it's vacation week in the Northeast . . . but here just for fun are my suggestions for a supporting cast of actors of Hispanic descent. Come to think of it, some of these might actually work. :yay:

Eduardo Verástegui woulda made a striking Superman himself.

I hate to be a superficial *****e here, but I have a hard time keeping my lunch down when I see Edward James Olmos' face. He looks like Two-Face if the acid had burned both sides.

^^ :funny: Actually, I agree with you about EJO. You sort of except the Mars Rover to land on his face. Still, he's a good actor. I could see him as Perry White.

Ditch Jessica Alba. She's awful.

Frankie Muniz wouldn't be a horrible choice if his personal life wasn't f***ed to sh**. He's a trainwreck.

:lmao:

Hollywood could save a lot of money on special effects the next time they do a Mars or a Moon landing movie... just do closeups of his face for the scenery.

I added America Ferrera as an alternative. Away from her "Ugly Betty" persona, I find her a really intriguing actress.

I like your choices for Lara and Jimmy, but we can all thank our lucky stars that you aren't casting Lois Lane. IMO, the worst propositions I have ever seen for the role.
