Heh. It's not surprising but it's stupid all the same. I'm sorry but I'm tired of seeing the crazy rantings of some white nerds who think that a movie is being overtaken by black people just because one black person gets a role as a side character in one of these films.

Shaft is all about him being black so there is no freakin comparasion to Jimmy. It's fine if one wants Jimmy to look exactly like his comicbook character but the shear amount of whinning and b**ching that goes on whenever one black person makes it into these lilly white productions is unsettling. I still read posts about how MCD ruined DareDevil because he was black or couldn't play the character because he was black. MCD was indeed miscast but not because he was black, he was miscast because he comes off as too nice. And don't get me started on the Thor talk. Whenever a black person is cast they are terible and it's "affrimitive action!"

I'm sorry but I don't and will never, ever, care about them changing a race of a minor background character. It's interesting to see some actual non-whites in these films.

How about mustering up as much anger about the race changes in Wanted, Prince of Persia, The Last Airbender, Dragon Ball and countless other movies that whitewash? There is far more whitewashing than a black person getting a role in a movie that people will actually see.

No I'm not calling everybody who doesn't want a race change racist. But there are curious racial undertones to the whole thing because everytime a minoritiy is shafted just so they can cast a white actor I always hear tons of excues but when the reverse happens I hear tons of b**ching.

I don't even want Glover in the role, I'm ranting about it because it really f**king bothers me and makes me kind of lose faith in humanity.

Jimmy is white, Donald is not. And like I say in all these stupid ethnicity suggestions, I'm not getting into the race debate. It goes nowhere, only causes problems, and is unnecessary.

No need to debate, I agree. I'll just converse with other folks on the matter, like:

I'm not saying that. In fact, I agree to a point. For certain roles depending on their role/importance/etc, it should matter, but for others it shouldn't. I understand that may sound hypocritical but it's just how I see it.

Michael Clarke Duncan didn't suck as Kingpin because he was black; the movie Daredevil just sucked.

Halle Berry didn't suck because she was black; the movie Catwoman just sucked.

Should Morgan Freeman not have played Mandella because he isn't South African? Or Mike Meyers not play Shrek because he really isn't an Ogre?

There is no reason that Jimmy couldn't be a black dude. The fact that they wrote him as a white guy 50 years ago should have nothing to do with it.

I want someone who is great for the role and I feel that Donald Glover would be.

While I was okay with the movie(I don't read or know much about Daredevil), it was pretty sucky Duncan was cast as Kingpin, but whatevs.

It sucked because the character wasn't even Catwoman, it was an original character created to try to be Catwoman so that they wouldn't get the negative reactions of them miscasting and butchering a well respected character.
