The Official Casting The Superman Reboot Thread - Part 2

I think when you bring it characters like Cat and Lombard it's just too much. If they end up in the film I can't imagine they would be to integral in the story which to me would mean the actors would more o less be unknowns.

That actually is a brilliant suggestion. Holloway could come off as someone kind of arrogant and someone Lois could be mildly attracted to if it weren't for Superman, or the fact that he's such a meat head(making him a decent foil for Clark)

I see what you mean with Danny McBride, and I think he would be hilarious. However, he would almost come off as a harmless buffoon that Clark wouldn't have to think twice about.

Oh, wow!
Holloway looks just like Lombard in that panel; that means he's perfect for the role. It looks like he just walked out of the comic book!
Good going!
Danny McBride is a great actor but he doesn't look like Steve Lombard from the comics like Holloway does.
McBride also has brown hair and Steve Lombard doesn't, so he's no good for the part.

Who the f*** is Steve Lombard?

******* sports reporter who has been in and out of the Superman comics since the 40's when he was first introduced as Steve Bard. His best known incarnation was as the sports guy on WGBS in the 70's, when he was a parody of Joe Namath. His most recent high-profile appearances were in All-Star Superman where he seemed to be modeled after either Carl from ATHF or Ron Jeremy, take your choice.

He's a Flash Thompson kind of character that never grows up. He basically exists for Clark to secretly humiliate with his powers because he's a piggish dick.

Read my post genius and you'll notice my points about them were not based purely on their looks. Jeez...a sarcastic poster on a forum, how original.

Oh, that dude. I do remember him! I doubt they'll cast a big name actor (or even an average name) for that part though. But if they do, I would have to agree that Danny McBride would be perfect if they go with the Ron Jeremy version.

Or they could just actually cast Ron Jeremy. He was the sh** in Boondock Saints.

Only hedgehog that can be in a mainstream movie that kids might go to see is Sonic.

So, Joe Manganiello would be good?

Joe Manganiello would have been a great Superman looks and build wise.

Ok, here is my choice for Non, unless Snyder wants to go with Jax-Ur, so we can all pretend he is not mining Richard Donner's imagination for inspiration.

Non/ Jax-Ur

^ That'd actually be interesting, but I prefer someone like Clive Owen. A guy that can be devilish smart and still kick some ass, as Jax-Ur is Zod's main scientist AND muscle.

I literally cannot wait for the Jor-El/Lara casting.

I'd quite like that.

Maybe Joe could be Captain Marvel in a JL or Shazam movie. I think he'd be great for that. And I think you could get away with Captain Marvel being bigger than Superman since Cap is a match for him (and sometimes portrayed as even more powerful, like in Kingdom Come).

The casting announcement I'm most excited for is for Jor-El and Lara. I'm actually open to any actors and actresses who is going to play them. However, I do hope that Weisz gets the role as Lara.

Maybe an unconvential choice for Perry, physically, but I'd freaking love it if he was cast.

Peter Capaldi for Perry White.

Warning! Profanity should be expected.
