The Official Choose A Director Thread

I'm thinking of Superman effects more in the line of Transformers, as well as Batman. It's obvious you need CGI for a movie like this, but the former of those two had as much as possible done for real. Anything that could be done was done. Most of the action scenes with the robots are mostly live-action footage with the robots added in. That's what I'm thinking. Do as much as you possibly can for real. And when you do use CGI, make it look better than SR. As I said, it looked like WB should have asked Singer for their money back...Transformer's effects were leagues ahead, IMO, and the film cost 50 million less.
well when OP is sliding down the building with Sam it was all CGI. when Bay could use ''hes sparks'' and explossions he sed it. bit this was only for street action. when you have superman in air and when you have flying through buildigns it has to be CGI. we have the tools and computer power to do this with a normal budget.

yea i would love to have very good special effects to show up superman's powers, and fights with villains and any building destructions and all that. But keep the cgi to the more important sequences and scenes were as flying i want to see the actual actor doing it and not have a cheesy looking cgi model of the actor.

CGI double flying should onyl be used when the actot can no make those moves. when its a simple shot of him flying it has to be the actor.
they said that for the lighting used in SR they had to sue CGI double. like when he fly's above metropolis to lois's house. that was a CGI doubl.e ok it didnt look fake but i think they used it because they didnt have the same lighting with brandon .
BS from me. they had detailed previs footage of almost every shots. BS i say. even if you add a shot later in production you still do first a little previs.

why am i terrified that they were thinking doing all motion capture? but please show tell us!!

The more CGI the better  SR had none outside the huge turd continent thats why the film seemed so small inscale

They don't know what they want. They never have. Except the making money part. That's one of their problems.

Angeloz

They wanted Abrams scirpt made because they knew that would make them a fortune. They settled for Singer because they ran out of time, and Singer would only do his story.

I dont like the idea of all motion capture movie, but i would love an animated movie of KINGDOM COME or something, like Pixar does.

the movie would tank if it was mo cap. the thing about superhero movies is they want to see real people, their heroes doing extraordinary things.

the movie needs to be action packed. if it is it will make money, worry about the scope of the story in the next film but if anything they need to go overboard with action, wow the audience

Im intrigued by a potential Wachowski interpretation, despite what you may have thought of the matrix films Im a fan of the series. I think we would get a visually stunning film (granted i do not want like speed racer cgi) as well as something very faithful to the comics.

All they need now is to cast Cavill as Supes and we're good to go!

Well since it seems they didn't go with some of the stories they were mulling they would need the following as well.

-Story
-Writers
-Script
-Director
-Cast
-Locations

:csad:

Maybe they aren't renewing Smallville yet because they wanna cast Tom Welling once they get a director :cwink:

Don't hold your breath waiting for that to happen, my friend.

Show are you saying that we are back at square one?...were we ever on square two?

Is this what Is clasically referred to as development hell?
