@ dark b. IMO, I dont know if you would want to hand over Superman to a director that hasnt really made big epic films. If this were S.R. all over again, and we havent had a Superman film in nearly 20 yrs, then yeah. But because of S.R., I think you will need a director they can handle the big epic films.
I'm thinking along the lines of Spielberg, Verbinski, Jackson, Bay (yes bay), Abrams, Cuaron, Verbinski, Howard
We need the kinda director that will make the public go....
''holy sheet,(insert one of the above mentioned directors here) is directing this? I gotta see this
'' and not one that makes them go ''Meh, who is that director? ''it looks ok, I may or may not see it
''.

"). However i think that their expertise in making the matrix sequels is a big advantage in developing a superman movie. The rigs that were created for the flying scenes in the matrix movies , were further refined to shoot superman returns. Although i still dont understand why Singer didn't use the XYZ-rig ( that is what's it called right
). They know how handle big visual effects . All they need IMO is a CG realism that ILM & WETA are capable of delivering when it comes to CG humans and a good script . Prefereably one that is written by comic book writers. Also very interesting is the fact that they're good buds with J. Michael Stracynski.
