I haven't seen the movie in a long time. I've forgotten.:O

Singer Still Planning Superman Sequel
Source: Edward Douglas July 21, 2006

At the Warner Bros. panel at Comic-Con in San Diego, director Bryan Singer said that he was in talks with Warner Bros about a sequel. He hadn't concluded a deal to do it yet, which he said is always “iffy," but he has every intention to do a sequel for 2009, and said that while Superman Returns reintroduced the character for new people, the next one will let him get all “Wrath of Khan on it."

He also joked that he has to see who's left in the cast if he ever were to return to the X-Men franchise. Ironically, right before being asked about it, he had been joined on the dias by original Superman director Richard Donner, whose wife Laura Schuler Donner produced the first two X-Men movies.

I'm not a Trekky. I saw Wrath Of Khan, but I wonder what he meant by that?

I know its considerd the best Star Trek flick and Singer is a trekkie.

The only thing I remember is that Spock dies saving the Enterprise's crew.

Wrath of Khan is the best Trek flick by far....

What that film introduced was a real villian for Kirk and his crew. Essentially, Singer is saying that there will be a real threat/villian for Superman and possibly a big cliffhanger ending....

Khan is the best of those pictures(unless you really like Search for Spock...it was a good movie but I liked Khan better). ...anyway.

He means basically going all out and doing a **** load of stuff(IE: Supervillian...Brainiac) "going wrath of khan" is actually an expression I've heard often by non trekkies.

Well, that does sound encouraging.

Since Wrath of Khan is the best Trek movie, its one of the best sci-fi movies of all time and of course has one of the most memorable villains of all time (Ricardo Montalban's "Khan").

So, that said, we could see a 'super villain' of sorts for Superman to go head to head with.

Let's hope we get some actual Superman fighting this time.

Well G4 was at comic-con, and I'm pretty sure this will be in their live report. So, video footage- possibly- later on tonight! By the way, those in and around the New York area, G4's coverage starts at 8 tonight.

"cough" Richard sacrificing himself while saving Superman or Jason

Or Singer can go the Lemkin route and make Superman's spirit posses Jason and make him grow with Super-Speed becoming the new Superman. :down

Essentially, a supervillian and someone's going to have an unhappy ending that will leave everyone hanging for the third film...if they get it.

I'm telling you, the sequel will be awesome. At least he confirmed that they're currently in talks. Hate the "always iffy" line, though.

Ball's in Warners' court.

unfortunately that would be the most likely scenario.

i want Richard to hang on till the end if the end of the trilogy. i want Singer and Co. to be responsible for this character since they introduced him in the first place and threw a monkey wrench on the whole system. besides Marsden's been shafted enough times with cop out endings.

Probably they are discussing the reduction of the budget. So they can't confirm it yet.
