No they aren't. Look closer:

The seams above the belt are gold, just like the seams on the leg. They for sure aren't black. It's either gold or silver.

Well maybe but the one that's most clear, the one on the leg looks black to me. And it would make sense for them to be black, since the leathery wristbands are black as well.

No they arent. They're blue. They're definitely not black.

The seam on the leg seems to be silver, imo. The same material that is surrounding the symbol.

Maybe it's my screen then, but I see black. It just has a shine that makes it silvery, but it's just because it's somekind of plastic or leather.

Most of the people who say stuff like that know nothing about Superman or his history, and all Siegel and Shuster are to them is two dead Jews whose families are suing WB/DC.

Which has nothing to do with a person's personal preference. If someone prefers no underwear, they prefer no underwear. It holds no less weight than your preference to have them just because you may have read a few more comics, regardless of whatever smugly erudite, and accusatory pseudo-racist language you use.

Update:

Something i was wondering... It is possible that the shape of the seams and belt forms an "M" and together with the S from the symbol we have SuperMan. The M motif is also present in the boots.

I think that looks pretty good, I would prefer if they did have trunks. But if they don't this isn't bad at all.

I actually tried it the day the pic came out, got the same completely red "hits" in the trunks area (so dark that it looks black to the naked eye, but a really dark, dark red) but when I posted my results some people were writing it off by saying "try the color picker on the main blue areas of the suit, you'll find a few random red pixels there too" even though it's not just a few scattered red pixels here and there....it's the ENTIRE trunks area. That, along with the fact that the rest of the suit is so classic, makes me believe that there will be trunks when we get a clearer look at the suit.

I would hope so, but if not oh well. Like I said before, I'm really glad this movie is happening, cause it could be worse and we wouldn't have anything to talk about.

I wish people would stop using the colour picker in Photoshop to see if he's wearing red trunks. The reason red is showing up in that area is due to compression and jpeg artifacting. It's all over the picture, but it amazes me how people are selectivley colour picking an area they so desperately want to be red and ignoring everywhere else.

Using the colour picker is NOT an accurate method on such a low quality picture.
Here's an experiment I did.

Oh look. A Red/orange hue is showing up on his torso and the colour picker is infaliable, so his torso must be entirely red also.

The above point is a really good one, but every pick under the belt shows red. At least you showed me something different instead of saying things like, "are you color blind, your in denial, there are no trunks, and things like that. You took the time to show me something. Truth is I don't think anyone can say that the suit looks a certain way yet. We are all speculating and hoping for the best.

Hopefully the next picture won't take too long. Either way I'll be happy.

That's what I believe also. If he didn't have trunks it would be better imo to reveal the whole costume, so that people have more time to become accustomed to that look. If he does in fact have trunks (what with everything else being updated classic, it just makes sense) the negative reaction towards them will be minimal at best. Snyder is just having a little fun with the fans.

A one piece will be pretty distracting, unless they made them pants with a belt. That doesn't fit with what was shown in the pic.

Agreed, Snyder does have a bad habit of that and once we get another look at superman again, the debate will end

you should've used an actual picture of someone in a "uni" instead of a rendered superman. This is not the same and doesn't relate. He was showing the difference between a circus stongman suit and a unitard.

This is the closest I've seen. The seams look really good to me. But they don't look gold to me, they look silver. Because gold just looks silly. And I have a feeling the belt is red or something, because there's way too much gold going on here. XD

I kinda disagree, silver doesn't make sense with the "classic" look they have, and there really isn't much gold/yellow at all. It's really a 3 color design, with the blue, red, gold/yellow.

I think its pretty obvious that the seams are gold because the reflection on them is the same hue as the belt buckle.
