You guys are killin me LOL!

Its. Freaking. High lights nothing more the seams are there to give him a more V shaped look and the sides of the leg are a more military look thus the suit came from Krypton and it will be explained like how Batman Begins explained the Batsuit

I think its pretty obvious that the seams are gold because the reflection on them is the same hue as the belt buckle.

Now that's a more realistic idea of what we've got.

Some of the manips of what the new suit looks like are just awful IMO

I like the overall design. I even like the texture that was used. It adds to the single blue color by way of how they light the costume and adds depth to the color tone. I know the picture is very low in saturation and almost completely covered in shadow, but the tone definiteley works better than the simple milliskin fabric that was used on the "returns" costume.

you should've used an actual picture of someone in a "uni" instead of a rendered superman. This is not the same and doesn't relate.

That's sort of the point. Kuro made a flawed argument, so I was using that same method he used to point it out. At least I was fair enough to use an actual Superman image that more or less looks like the suit being used, at least in terms of no underwear being used, as far as we can tell. It's close enough until we get an official, full-bodied pic from WB. So it relates as much as any image currently can.

He was showing the difference between a circus stongman suit and a unitard.
No, what he was doing was trying to argue against ElDuderino's position by, a) intentionally misrepresenting what ElDuderino said, and b) back up his point with ridiculous pics that in no way represented ElDuderino's statement, which was simply:
Better without the underwear.

Which, in Kuro's mind, somehow equates to:

being better than this:

Yes, because ballet dancer > circus strongman when it comes to badassery.

My take on what I think the movie costume looks like.

Looks great! I think the "belt" is a little off, though. On the official pic, you can see a strap peeking out from underneath a fold running from the front buckle. But overall it looks well balanced without the trunks. Definitely works here.

I kinda disagree, silver doesn't make sense with the "classic" look they have, and there really isn't much gold/yellow at all. It's really a 3 color design, with the blue, red, gold/yellow.

If you look closely, there's silver around the buckle and shield.

Something i was wondering... It is possible that the shape of the seams and belt forms an "M" and together with the S from the symbol we have SuperMan. The M motif is also present in the boots.

If this is what they're going with, it may or may not work, just according to how good the pattern looks.

I think its pretty much a certainty that the costume doesnt have trunks.

Unfortunately, yes. They listened to the decons and the decons won. It's a shame.

When he said:

If you knew anything about my position on the costume, I have said that keeping to the classic as designed by Joe Shuster, Superman's co-creator, is my first choice, but if the deconstructionist sect that is so ashamed of anything traditional just HAVE to get rid of the trunks, then they need to come up with SOMETHING good to break up the huge blob of blue. If SuperDaniel is right in his manips, then they have done that by co-opting design elements from Captain Marvel (as I have mentioned before) with the gauntlets on his forearms-still colored blue but pretty much cribbed directly from Captain Marvel's costume, and by making the waist/belt are a little more ornate to make up for the removal of the trunks. Does it work? It might. Is it better than the trunks? A matter of taste, I suppose.

That's all I need to say in response. Not gonna feed another troll/sock puppet.

I think you hit the nail on the head of what we're most likely getting.
Although I personally don't see the gold on the sides of the waist.

I dunno.. somehow it just works. It's simple, but resembles how the belt goes through the loops of the trunks.

Except there's no grey/silver around the \S/ and there's no yellow around the thighs/abdomen areas.
