I ready the Faces of Evil one-shot and decided I don't give a damn about Grundy unless Batman is giving him a plateful of Thanksgiving's food.

I passed too. I'm not that interested in Grundy and I figured he'd just kick Alan Scott's ass again, which would irritate me.

If you're a Grundy fan, you might enjoy it.

I'm not really, so I'm a bit confused. I'm reading it more out of curiosity than anything.

How do the Sinestro Corps rings find new bearers? I've only read up to the end of the SCW, so if its a spoiler don't tell me. But its just not been brought up so far, yet they made such a big deal about Mogo controlling the GL rings.

It's not really explained. As far as we know there's no Mogo equivalent driving the yellow rings around.

Mogo himself wasn't the driving factor behind the GL rings until SCW, either. Before that, as far as we knew, the rings just sought out new users when their old ones died because that's just what they did. If you could buy that they could turn a person intangible and give physical form to their thoughts based solely on willpower, buying that they were simply programmed to find suitable replacements wasn't hard at all to accept.

I am curious though, because it looked like in the preview that Grundy had a black lantern.

Brainiac's apparently a galactic bodybuilder now. Better watch what you say about him. ;)

I disagree.

His need for Food, water, and Air, has been in direct proportion of his solar charge.

Based on Canon,... if he Sun-Dips, he doesn't need any of them and can exist for thousands of years snoozing in a yellow star and above.

Ah. So if he gets hurt would he require these things?

Can anyone recommend the best Hellblazer trades? Also, you're trying to get into the Green Lantern, is Rebirth a good place to start?

Yeah, start with Rebirth. Although, if you want to go old school, you could read Emerald Dawn.

As for Hellblazer, the only one I've read was Dangerous Habits. They used some key elements of it for the Constantine movie, but the movie doesn't follow it at all.

Bout the only thing they used was the cancer, and the middle finger to the devil. The book is much better. Especially the way he got outta going to hell.

Overall, Constantine was mediocre, but the scene where John fingers Lucifer almost had me in tears. I'll definitely pick up Dangerous Habits.

i haven had a chance to read hellblazer yet, but from everything i know about it, it was infinitely cooler than constantine could ever have hoped to be... and keanu was totally miscast

Yeah, but i've had the chance to watch it a few times and, it's a decent movie. It could just as easily been called "wooden Bill and Ted guy hunts demons", but eh, what you gonna do?

It's a horrible Constantine movie but it's an alright movie.

Okay, apparently there's this Batfella that's had a lot of drama going on in the last year or so, what with being claimed to be dead, and replacing people and all that jazz. I dunno. I've been too far up Oa's butt [and reading, then getting tired of Secret Invasion] to really devote myself. But I'm catching up, so if someone could be so kind as to point me to a checklist of "Here's what the eff is happening in the Batworld, Drak", that'd be most appreciated, and I'll thank you by posting a picture of awesome.

You want a read list?

Batman and Son (it's weak but first appearance of Damien if you need to read all)
Batman: Club of Heroes
Batman: Black Glove
Batman: RIP
Final Crisis
Batman & Robin

I was looking moreso for numbers, but that's a good start, I think. Thanks, yenaled.

Ummm.

Batman is "dead." As in, Darkseid shot him with the Omega Sanction, and now he's stuck in some kind of eternal fourth dimensional suffering. At some point he ended up as a caveman. The rest of the DCU doesn't know about that last part, though, so they think he's dead because there was an actual corpse left behind. The world thinks Bruce Wayne is alive, however.

Dick Grayson took over as Batman, and Damian is his Robin. They're not off to the best start, but are getting better.

Tim became Red Robin and thinks Bruce is alive, in spite of the corpse. So he's being an angsty little girl basically.

Batwoman is around, starring in Detective Comics.

We'll find out what's going on with Barbara Gordon, Stephanie Brown, Cassandra Cain, and -- uh -- apparently Misfit as well when "Batgirl" comes out in August.

I think that's it, unless I missed anything.
