Dominic Monaghan is Blackwing — EXCLUSIVE!

20th Century Fox has cast former Lost star Dominic Monaghan as Barnell Bohusk, aka Blackwing, in X-Men: Wolverine, sources reveal exclusively to JustJared.com.

According to Wiki, Barnell’s body changes into that of a humanoid-bird form, with a beaked face, bulbous eyes, wing-like arms that give him the ability to fly (albeit clumsily), talons on his hands and feet, and double-jointed knees. In mutant form, Blackwing also possesses heightened agility, and he may possess heightened senses and a lighter skeletal structure like the avian X-Man formerly known as the Angel (Ben Foster played this character in X3).

Monaghan, 31, be joining Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Liev Schreiber (Sabretooth), Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool), Taylor Kitsch (Gambit), Will.i.am (Kestrel), Danny Huston (William Stryker), and Lynn Collins (Silver Fox).

X-Men: Wolverine slashes its way into theaters on May 1, 2009.

No one can still be saying they want the Weapon X story expanded beyond Wolverine! BMM, weren't you hoping for a lot more to Weapon X than the Wolverine/Stryker story. Sounds like we are getting it!

I love fan boys. For years they have wanted these characters in movies & now FOX is finally putting them in movies & the fan boys are like "These is to many cameos". FOX for the next set of movies give the fan boys the finger & ignore them. Then that will be something to whine about

I wouldn't worry about it. The same happened with X3.

After the mixed reactions to X3, I'd say that too many cameo characters might not be a good thing. Loading a movie with cameos doesn't seem to get a good response.

In X2 there was a scene in Strikers hideout showing x-ray photographs of muntants skeletons. One picture was of a wing with whith what appeared to be adamantium covered bone.

Could it be Striker experimented on Blackwing?

I suppose all these new character are pure cameos, 3 seconds and bye bye. Although the actos they are hiring are known ones.... don't know.

This film is starting to seem X3 2.

Because it's Wolverine's solo film. I don't want too many crap about other mutants, I wanna see Wolverine.

I understand that but we've already seen enough of Wolvie. Besides, Wolvie's gonna need alot of bad guys to kill anyway. Its better he goes against other mutants than some no name soldiers.

x3 had a huge cast of characters, that's why there was no room to develop the smaller/cameo characters. this movie is just about wolverine, and all these characters are his supporting cast. a necessity for most great films, unless you wanna see wolverine running around and just stabbing random people for 2 hours.

the 25th hour was written by david benioff, and starts ed norton amidst an excellent supporting cast. i have faith in him to deliver a well-rounded wolverine film. i think some of you are forgetting that these characters are already in the script. it's not like marvel is going, hey, let's add this guy in for no reason except he's cool! no, these characters all have their part in the script and i'm sure they'll all serve their purpose in the film.
