The Avengers The Official 'Hulk in Avengers' thread. - Part 9

I agree, although I did like the first transformation in Avengers. I liked how you could barely see his face, and the deepening of his voice. I put it there with the first transformation in Ang's film as my favorites on the big screen so far. But personally, I don't think Ruffalo was in the movie enough to say he was definitively better than the previous actors like some of the reviews lead me to believe.

Still think the best Hulk transformation scenes are the first one in TIH when Banner Hulks out in the soda factory (it was really ominous and the eyes turning bright green really sold it), and the "detransformation" in Ang Lee's film where Hulk turns back into Banner and falls at Betty's feet in the middle of downtown San Francisco.

The two Hulk outs in The Avengers were good mind you, but didnt really have the emotional impact of the two I listed above.

Personally I like different Hulk outs from different films. The first film i LOVE where he hulks out in the tank at the base, in TIH I really liked the hulking out on the table with Sterns (where you could see the entire painful transformation...reminded me a lot of the Iron Man/Hulk Ultimate mini), and the first transformation in the Avengers was great...I loved seeing the difference from when Banner was trying to hold the Hulk back compared to when he willingly let it out.

It would be funny if in Thor 2. Loki mentions to Thor that he wants a rematch with The Hulk. The next time he sees him

Loki better get a major power boost if he wants a rematch with the Hulk, because his current power level ain't gonna cut it.

I notice it always looks weirder when he changes back to Banner. The movies have only shown it onscreen once.

Hulk had so much personality in this movie...it's exactly the Hulk of the movies I've been wanting to see. We NEED the Hulk/Iron Man team-up movie now.

While I get that the effects/design has gotten better with subsequent version of The Hulk, I don't understand how you can watch THE HULK and THE INCREDIBLE HULK and not be interested in the character until THE AVENGERS. It's one thing to LIKE what he does in THE AVENGERS more...but most of the traits he had in THE AVENGERS were in the previous two films.

Ha, that wasn't even a "match" in the first place. Match implies the other guy gets one punch in. This was like watching WWF Superstars in 1986 with Kamala the 400-pound Ugandan Headhunter vs. Barry O.

Am I the only one who think Hulk didn't steal the show in the final battle?

That was the hype, and that is what was expected, but It didn't really happen. In the final battle, they ALL stole the show. I don't see how Hulk was anymore awesome than any of the others. In terms of the Final Battle, I think Cap, then IM had the most screen time. They all stole the show, Hulk Taking off, Thor Killing 2 of the dragon things with one blast (did anyone else even notice that) I thought that was HUGE, the scene following ironman, and he lands near cap and we see Cap doing his spin kicks and ****, then ironman shoots his lazers off cap's shield (best moment of the final battle for me).

Idk, I don't think Hulk stole the show. He had the most laughs, but, in terms of stealing the show, i think it was all even.

Movie gets better every time I watch it.

PS I want to see a Hulk and Thor fight outside, one where Thor can actually cut loose as well

Hulk was like Bugs Bunny on steroids out there, it was great.

It was totally mid conversation, if Loki was prepared, he would have held his own. He still woulda gotten rocked, but he could have still held his own. He could really screw with Hulk's head if he was prepared to fight, with the duplicate things, and all other magical abilities he posesses. He would have lost, but he definitely was capable of holding his own.

Agreed. He certainly had moments devoted to him, but so did everyone else.

I liked how IM decided to take down one of the leviathans later on.

I think you're right in saying that each character got an even amount of time to shine, but by 'stealing the show' I, and I think most other people who use that term, mean that the Hulk was the most entertaining to watch. The amount of laughs definitely keys into that, IMO.

I'm not sure if this is necessarily true. I've seen the movie three times and I've watched the scene you're describing closely. Thor blasts the leviathon's with lightning, and while they seemed stunned, you never actually see them destroyed. Interestingly enough, when a leviathon re-emerges a few minutes later it is shown with electric current going through it and around it. Did you notice that?

I did. I thought that was just showing that they were somewhat mechanical. Ive seen the movie 4 times, and watched the scene on putlocker like 5 other times. The reason I thought it killed the two of them, because it looked like they exploded? there was a big explosion, then the scene cut

I don't know. was still fantastic though either way.

But that scene with Ironman blasting his rays off cap's shield. ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Yeah, very true actually. Good point.

Better yet Thor should tease Loki about getting his ass whooped by Hulk when Loki gets too full of himself.

Hey, after the Hulk and Thor fight, did anyone notice that when the jets were firing at Hulk and he was roaring at them, that his eyes were twitching in the same fashion that you would if something light grazed his eyelashes? Jet fire to hulk was like us just getting a feather grazed across our eyelashes ahah.

Also, in my opinion the funniest scene in the movie involved Hulk, but it wasn't the sucker punch, or the Loki part, it was after he tore apart the jet, the jet blew up, and then there was a zoomed out view of it blowing up, and Hulk just falling off of it, and as he is falling in this view, you hear him roaring, like a dinosaur "ruhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" and out of sight, that scene, and the fact that, THAT was his exit from the helicarrier sequence, had me in absolute tears. Him falling away and that moaning roar absolutely killed me. Me and my friend were laughing for a good 2 minutes straight at that scene.

Did anyone else but me find that funny? lol

"Perhaps, dear brother, I should summon the Hulk to help redress your overblown sense of superiority you have re-developed?"
