Yeah they really hinted that she new he was spider man. I thought we where going to see her finding out that peter is spider man in sm3 or something.

Not to compare or anything, but I even got the feeling Aunt May knows something about Peter being Spider-Man in TASM2.

The scene where she reveals Richard's disappearance to him, that look she gives him at the end ("Even from the people they love") is telling.

And let's not forget the cuts and bruises that happened to Peter. Sure that may come from thugs and the lizard but aunt may still would have some suspicions. Well, that is until the stupid laundry sherif scene where she couldn't even figure out that her nephew is spiderman or maybe she's just trying too hard. Whatever the case the next time you give hints just make it well written instead of stupidly forced.

They were writing a reboot script while developing SM-4? Are you certain of that?

Yup. Certain. Sony were doing some bizarre things behind the scenes the entire way through SM4's production.

It all ties to James Vanderbilt. As far back as 2009 you can see him attached to SM5 & 6 - where he was writing with a reboot in mind. Interestingly, he was hired to write SM4 at first, but he was dropped for some more drafts from others, and eventually was behind the reboot.

And as a result they meddled with the film anyway. The second time nearly ruined. They really need and have to make this new franchise great otherwise they're ****ed

Yeah I remember that he was going to be on spider man 4 and he ended up on asm1 instead when they did the reboot I wonder if he had done asm2 has while and they didn't have some one different form asm1 how different asm2 would be compared to what we got.

Yeah I agree the people they love and also even the look she has at the end when peter is watching the news about spider man not being seen for a long time.

Furthermore, Gwen's death can also be a hint at some point. We don't know what the general public was told about her death; after all, Aunt May knows there's some kind of relationship between Peter and Gwen.

I'm sure other people have noticed this before, but I just picked up on Radio Rah...er..Robbie Robertson holding Peter's gaze as Robbie talked about the need for Spidey to come back in Spidey 2.

Loved the little character touches like that sprinkled in.

This is the Raimi thread. Stop bringing that garbage new franchise up in here.

It's minimal, but I love the "I told yOU HE WASN'T A MENACE" and the next look on Robbie's face. People always say JJJ can never be re-cast, but I think the same for Robbie.

Definitely.

I liked how even though there were characters that had little to no role in the overall plot, they had some kind of characterization that made the audience remember them.

At least for readers of the comics, Robertson's support of Spider-Man is a gem in this film.

Yeah Robbie really showed his support for Spidey in 2. It was there briefly in 1 when he's telling Jonah he's a hero, and Jonah was all like 'So why does he wear a mask? What's he got to hide?'.

In 3 Robbie has sod all to do. He should have stepped up and defended Spidey when the phony photo Brock made of Spidey being a thief popped up.

I really wish there would have been a conversation between Peter and Robbie where RR could have made a passing statement about the "left hand fighting the right hand". Not everyone would have gotten that one, but it still would have been awesome. :cwink:

....I have warned you MANY times to not post comparisons and such like this in here. Aunt May in TASM films has NOTHING, NOTHING, NOTHING to do with the RAIMI films! Consider yourself thread banned.

I'm actually watching the extras DVD for the original as I type this. I'm really struck with Kirsten Dunst. Yes,I've always found her attractive and maybe it's because she's younger here and looks more youthful, but I can see why they picked her for MJ. In her interviews and screentests she is sexy gorgeous!

I think that they even got Raimi's Spidey's themes right in the VG.

Spider-Man 3 has by far the best action of all the Spider-Man movies.

The two Goblin/Harry fights, two Sandman fights and the Battle Royal fight with Goblin,Sandman and Venom. And there's the Gwen crane scene.

Spider-Man 2 may have the best fight scene in the series, but Spidey 3 has the best collection of overall action in the franchise.

In terms of quantity I guess yes but the train sequence is so far above any other action scene in any other film that SM2 wins that crown by default surely?

Depends on how you look at it. But it's not like the SM3 fight scenes are mediocre. They're all pretty excellent. My only complaint would be about the first Sandman fight, always wished it went on longer.

The Sandman fights show off great balance of CGI with stuntwork, while fight scenes like the Peter/Harry fight in the mansion is very much good old choreography.

I actually agree with you on second thought :)

SM3 was consistent, well thought out action.

It's not that bad of a movie on reflection

For a second I thought we were in a different thread ANE and I did a MASSIVE double take ;)

I gave it a 10/10 in 2007.

I give lots of movies 10/10's on the first watch, I fall into the hype quite easily
