I'd say this is about the 10 billionth reason as to why fans don't write scripts.

Fans have some whacky-@$$ ideas lol

After hearing that it saves me the hassle of watching that vid.

Does anyone followed this page on Facebook? This is my gift; my curse. I will always be Spider-Man?

They have some really good photos from the 2002 film. Check out the album SPIDER-MAN THE MOVIE

These are some of my favorite photos:

Cool shots, thanks for sharing! That AF #15 tribute is super cool, can't remember if I've ever seen it before or not. :spidey:

No problem. Yeah, that AF15 tribute is amazing (no pun intended). I wonder why these are so hard to find?

It's like they've been buried. I remember when these films were coming out, there was cool promo art like this all over the web. I guess with Sony's official film site changing for each film, then converting to the Webb stuff it got lost in the shuffle more or less, which is a crying shame, really.

Nothing brings back waves of nostalgia and excitement like images from this era of films for me.

That reminds me, I used to be on the Spider-Man Movie Network forums when I was really young. They took that down I think, but there was so much nostalgia on those forums.

Not even sure what that is, but it sounds awesome.

CBMs are amazing right now, and in extremely great territory, but I do sometimes pine for the simpler days when Raimi & Co. were churning out these incredible films and we got great video game adaptions with them.

I was on the Spider-Man movie network, too, back in the day. It closed around 2010. I think it was because of the impending reboot.

It was a message board devoted to Spider-Man. Same style as SHH, but all Spider-Man. It was primarily devoted to the Raimi films.

Wish they brought it back. I think I was on those forums like 9 years ago? Or at least close to when Spider-Man 3 came out.

I was on those boards, too. Was a fun little place dedicated to talking about Spidey stuff. I remember one time I went straight to the beginning of that forum because they kept it all up back from 2001 and up and it was interesting seeing all the speculation and excitement as the stuff was coming out.

The movie website had a nice fan art thing I remember, too. Lots of talented people, don't think any of that is around either.

I remember at one point they had a contest and you could win some Spider-Man 3 posters. I have one of them somewhere.

Man this is bringing me back and making me miss the Raimi days even more.

That's so cool. I had the Spider-Man on the tower in the black suit poster hanging up in my room back then. Had all kinds of stuff from the trilogy...2002 at Christmas, my sister got me a Spider-Man art set, which was the coolest. Had a ton of merchandise from 3 like the poster, action figures, notebooks, and a cool black Spidey ornament that I just hung up on my tree this year.

Regarding what Spidey 62 said, it's really fun to look at the speculation from before the movie and the blown-away reactions after it. Simpler times.

I remember the Spider-Man Movie Network when I was looking for Spidey 3 news back in the day. The board there was great, was so disappointed when they shut it down. Still am. I try to Wayback Machine it every now and then.

I remember when Spider-Man came out in theaters, I saw it at the mall movie theater. My friend knew everyone at the video store downstairs (it was called Suncoast) and they would put up movie posters every month. Once Spider-Man was out for a month, they took the poster down and my friend gave me that poster. I don't have it anymore and I regret it every day, but it was basically the image used for the VHS cover.

Do you have a link? I tried finding that site on way back machine but I can't find any captures.

I don't think I could ever find a page from the forum, but I think I could from the main page. I can't remember what the original link was. Anyone know?

Now this is interesting - the official Spider-Man movie page on Sony's website right now isn't promoting Homecoming the TASM movies, but only the original Raimi movie.

That's super cool. I love the promo material from that era. Despite what people feel about Spider-Man 3, the marketing for that film was beyond amazing.

Watchmojo ranked the "Top 10 Best Superhero Movies of the 2000s" (S-M1 ranked #7 and S-M2 ranked #2) and the "Top 10 Superhero Movies of ALL TIME" (S-M2 ranked #4).

Spider-Man 2 still the king of the Spidey movies, and still respected enough to rank high on the top lists.

I'm really hoping that Spider-Man: Homecoming at least comes close to the quality of SM2.

Cool to see this series still getting the love it deserves after all these years.

3 is still hated with ridiculous hyperbole, but ehh. It is what it is.

You know what's great about the music in the Raimi trilogy? The music interacts with the scenery.

For example, in this scene, listen to the music beats as Peter climbs the wall starting at 32-33 seconds in:

Elfman's score helps drive the film. Most recent comic book films don't do that, and the music sort of takes a back seat and turns into "background music."

It's very difficult to believe that the first installment of Spider-man is almost 15 years old. The memory of seeing it in the theater for the first time is still very fresh in my mind.

^ I miss when the score was actually important in comic book movies. That scene is a great example of why Danny Elfman's stuff worked really well in these movies, really supplements what's going on and makes it even more effective.

Yeah, that is nuts. I remember in my experience seeing the 1st movie on opening day I was just completely pumped during the final swing, I positively lit up like a Christmas tree. I was an impressionable 7 year old, and that was a great way to end the movie.

Am I the only one that gets emotional when thinking about Spider-Man 1?

Yes, exactly. I think the Spider-Man trilogy has the best music out of any comic book movies.

I agree. Everyone is trying to do more or less what Zimmer did with TDK and it's not working. TDK's score was brilliant, but everything that's followed has been somewhat lackluster for me personally. I miss the orchestra scores and big numbers.

Am I the only one that gets emotional when thinking about Spider-Man 1?

Not hardly.
