Spider-Man The Official "I Loved Raimi's Spider-Man' Thread - Part 1 of 99 Luft - - - - Part 13

The Raimi Spider-Man films are legend. Always will be.

Still a great pleasure to watch.

For someone who is considered to be a loser this guy has strong lungs, and a strong pair of legs. Heck, his hand is strong too given how much he slaps the window while running by the side of the bus.

For the longest while I thought Peter Parker as a character shouldn't be a wimp, he can run quite a distance carrying a bunch of heavy books in his arms.

Just re-watched the Trilogy the other day. Man these films bring back memories. I still don't care much for Spider-Man 3, but after watching the Amazing Spider-Man films, I've come to appreciate it for what it is.

Take a look at this video. Such a fascinating look at Spider-man 3. Very nice to see other people starting to see how good and complex the movie is.

Interesting video. I think it's definitely a sound thematic reading of the trilogy, and one I never quite thought about in those terms.

I still think it's kind of a shame that Raimi just clearly didn't care for the Venom character even when the metaphor there was pretty perfect for what he was going for. But, I've always maintained that Spidey 3 had some good themes it was working with even if the execution was a bit all over the place.

Much love for Raimi's trilogy.

Belated Happy 14th anniversary, Spider-Man 2. Still my favorite Spidey movie.

Spidey 2 remains my favorite comic book movie of all-time. I would love to be able to watch it in the cinema again. Only Raimi Spidey film I was only able to see in the theater once.

Maybe it's because we've seen Spidey on film since part 3 came out or maybe it the over saturation of comic book/superhero movies over the last 10 years but,truthfully...for me every single one of Raimi's Spider-man movies was an event. I spent hours following each movie online(and on these boards). Eagerly looking for any new pic, trailer or piece of information I could find. And finally getting to opening night was amazing. I saw the first 2 films in the theater at least 4 times, and I saw part 3 exactly 7 times(the most I've ever seen a movie in the theater). I just don't get that with any Spider-man or comic book films since. Yeah,I was excited for Civil War,the Dark Knight and I'm getting pumped for the upcoming Venom movie but no films have given me more excitement and anticipation like the Raimi trilogy.

I was in a similar situation there, except I did not come to this site for any detail.

Does Avi Arad not get enough credit for the movies, especially 2? According to imdb's trivia page for Spider-Man 2

Michael Chabon submitted a draft screenplay which featured a younger Doc Ock becoming infatuated with Mary Jane. In Chabon's script, Octavius is the creator of the genetically modified spider that bites Peter Parker. Producer Avi Arad rejected the screenplay, largely because he didn't like the idea of another love triangle.

In the documentary on the Spidey 2 DVD, Avi says he was the one who came up with that idea.

So no, he's still an idiot.

Some neat stuff here. I've seen some of it but other pics are new.

This stuff is fascinating to me. I loved the Venom we got in this movie, and I love seeing the good and bad of the early stages. I know Sam wasn't too happy with using him, but I thought he did the best he could with what he had for the most part. I do wish some things were different, but I think they improved on Venom as a character. The look was perfect to me.

I wish we could see some of these scenes.

There's so much of Spider-Man 3 out there that we haven't seen.

People these days are talking about the Snyder cut while I'm still praying for a Spider-Man 3.1.

All the animatronic Venom's are really cool. Wish they were using things like that in the new movie.

The editor's cut wasn't good enough!

Yeah the scenes added in the Editor's cut were nice to see but I didn't like the rearrangement of some scenes or cutting Aunt May's scene from the apartment.

I think Venom works best as a practical effect with CGI enhancements. I liked that we got Topher in a suit in this movie.

The new movie looks way too fake.

And to anyone else thinking this way.

The only things I didn't like about Venom in 3 were that he was more serpent like, than monster. Though I would have preferred a him to be bigger too.

To me the big Venom doesn't look scary. I like it when he is drawn thinner. I think his size in the movie was perfect. He seems more agile that way and it just seems more vicious.

Neither Venom has been very good looks wise, though they both have some good stuff.

In Spidey 3 he was too slim for my liking, now in this Venom movie he's way too big. For me, Venom is considerably bulkier than Spidey, but he shouldn't be a towering giant.

I actually liked the Editor's Cut of the movie quite a bit.
