Spider-Man The Official "I Loved Raimi's Spider-Man' Thread - Part 1 of 99 Luft - - - - Part 13

Thought I'd share this cool piece of artwork here;

If only they used Maguire in Civil War we could've got Spider-Man 4 (rather than Homecoming) with Venom (Jensen Ackles) and Carnage (Cillian Murphy) as the villains, Maguire in Infinity War, the Venom movie set in the MCU, and Maguire in Endgame!

I mean sure that's true, but who said anything about Raimi?

Well we're in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man thread. We all know Maguire, Dunst and Co. wouldn't do a fourth movie without Raimi. Sony, as stupid as they are, wouldn't try and recast for a fourth movie. So Raimi's involvement is kind of essential if a Spider-Man 4 was going to happen.

Which is a shame since, if Venom and/or Carnage were in the fourth then it would have to be darker so Raimi would've been perfect for it.

The multiverse has greatly raised my hope of seeing Tobey’s Spidey returning in some form.

I hope he’d be up for it.

I remember when we first heard whispers that Disney and Sony had made a deal over Spider-Man and that he would potentially appear in Civil War (before it was confirmed) I started thinking about how awesome it would be if it happened to be Tobey Maguire returning. They could have made it in the story so that he retired as Spider-Man for a few years to raise a kid with MJ or something and then he gets dragged back into it because of the "bigger than life" plotline of the MCU with eventually facing Thanos.

Then I saw Into the Spidey Verse last year and I kinda wish they would have gone that route even more. I'm not a Miles Morales fan, but I think about the possibility of instead of Homecoming and Tom Holland as another Peter Parker (he's great in the role, no problems there) they could have reintroduced Maguire as an older, more experienced Peter Parker, who could eventually pass the baton.

Can't remember if this has been posted here before, but here's a small snippet of a deleted scene from Spider-Man 3.

I watched the Editor's Cut tonight and have grown to like it over the theatrical. The added Sandcastle scene with Penny and the removal of the Butler's confession with Harry does it for me.

I'm still hoping for a cut of the film with everything included. #ReleaseTheRaimiCut.

Feeling kinda nostalgic right now... man, I friggin' love the Raimi flicks. Want to write up a huge post one day detailing as much, but for right now I'll just say that they all (yes, even the 3rd... to an extent) hold a special place in my heart <3

I remember being soooo invested in these boards back in the day (back when it was simply spidermanhype.com), checking the site daily to see if there were any updates to the film, even reading a copy of James Cameron's script for his version of Spider-Man. Good times...
