Anyone who really thinks that WB will kill off a cute little kid in a movie that they expect to be successful with families and kids is CUH-RAZY.

This thread is despicable.

You should be reported to the police, you blood thirsty psychopath.

Aw, but don't you know that Clark/Superman will die a heroic death, and Jason will become the new Superman!

(that was actually said by a girl I know :whatever: )

I can't say I'm surprised to hear that either. I pretty much wrote it into my script (though I only went part way... kind of - read it and you'll see what I mean).

Get rid of him. It doesnt matter how. He should never have been in the movie in the first place. Blast him in space/

By the time a sequel is made, he won't be a kid anymore.

By the way, it wasn't successful with families with the kid alive, what would it matter if he was dead.

The point of SR, was to show us that he is not alone anymore. Most of the movie we see a serious and sad Superman who feels lonely. But when he finds out Jason is his son he is happy, proud and that he has now a connection with Krypton and Earth.

The sequel will probably have an spectacular fight with a bad guy. But it will also focus on Superman trying to get close to Jason. Maybe he will tell him he that Clark and Superman are the same person. Singer knew some people wouldn't like the idea that Superman is now a father.

well, its said that they're making a Teen Titans movie.

turn him into Conner and then kill him off.

Doomsday is nothing more than a one dimensional action villian; always will be. He doesnt deserve his own film.
Any character/villain is as one dimensional as the people who writes them. These stories are not about the villains its about the villains complimenting the story of the hero. Doomsday is a powerful alien being who has links to Krypton as well as Superman. Given the Singer set up in Returns he could fit as well as a few others. However I would not want to see him or Darkseid under the guidance of Singer anyways. Let him do Brainiac and wam bam poof be gone with him.

so you think he's gonna tell Jason he and Clark are the same? And i never got this in SR..but does Richard know that Jason is not his son?

I think he knows that Jason is not his son. But I doubt he knows Superman's the real father.

i knew the moment lex knew that the kid was suppies. and at that moment...i felt a little bit of me die inside.

I think he should die of natural causes because Kryptonian DNA and Human DNA are not compatable on a molecular level. They've already set up that he's sick, so it wouldn't be a stretch.

Maybe that's the plan all along? To set him up in the first movie, then have him tragically die in the second. And thus Superman realizes he will always be the last of his kind....

I would prefer it.

Him doing something in the end to save Lois or even Supes in a heroic way. It would bring great drama and emotion to the ending of the sequel and it would make the film better overall most likely.

Thats another good suggestion. His illness because os the mix of DNA and then have him die tragically and heroically in some way.

They can kill him off toward the end of the film....

All the reasons for bringing Jason into the film degrade the character of Superman.

On the contrary, it adds a new dimension to the character that has been there throughout all the movies. It dignifies the character and puts him away from the bidimensional good-doer in tights cliché.

Superman as a father cannot do anything but makes him a better man.

He never should've existed in the first place.

I read the whole post and you didn't post any reason for that.

IMO, the challenge of the next Superman film will be correcting all the mistakes that were made in Superman Returns. A good first step in that direction would be killing off Jason White. Not only because the character sucks, but it would also have a good dramatic effect on the film.

In Superman Returns, Superman found a connection in Jason, it symbolizes the legacy of Krypton living on - which of course if very important to Superman. Having that stripped away from him, plus Jason being the only family Superman has, would be a very interesting thing to see Superman go through. Plus, it would be a step closer to bring Superman back to his roots, which is always a good thing.

To make Superman a bitter father with an indelible tragedy in his life?

That's taking Superman to the field of Batman or so. Losing a son is worse than losing parents or your girlfriend. That would mark Superman's life forever in a negative way. I'm sorry, the idea can't be any more wrtong for the character.

do you think there will be a scene superman and his son soaring high in the sky happily, chasing each other? if there is a direct sequel.

I don't think Schumacher will be directing. Or Raimi.
