Pearce as Lex Luthor would be amazing. Or Daredevil, but you know...

Perfectly understandable. His character WAS awfully punchable in that, lol. On top of those other two films on your list, I highly recommend The Proposition, too. It's an Aussie Western with fantastic acting, photography, and another haunting score from Nick Cave & Warren Ellis (the duo who did The Assassination of Jesse James). In fairness, I have see none of those films. Though Memento and Animal Kingdom are definitely on my need to watch list so i'll get back to you
I was actually just looking through his IMDB to see if I could figure out where my hatred of him started... and I got it pinned.
Count of Monte Cristo.
I haven't seen that film in years, but he played such a convincing punchable ******* that it's actually never shaken!![]()
This is what we need for Lex -

A certain attitude often accompanied by a squinty look and a superior smile that makes you instantly hate a person. Similar to snobby. I.e. He/she/it is totally smarmy, I want to punch them in the face.
That's awesome, I could really get behind Guy Pearce for Lex after watching that video. Without the accent of course![]()
OHMYGOH!! I HATE THAT GUY. Ever since Count of Monte Cristo. I mean I really really hate him... I just want to beat his teeth in to the back of his throat... He's PERFECT!
I just don't want Lex to be Smarmy![]()
Heh, it's funny, "smarmy" is exactly the quality I see in Bradley Cooper that makes me not like him for a hero (say in the Uncharted movie, for example). I'm ok with Lex Luthor having a little smarminess as long as he has plenty of sophistication, cool and cunning as well. For the record, NOT like Pearce's character in Count of Monte Cristo, though. That's a whole other realm of smarminess.I'll check it out, sounds good
Oh, and I just thought of the perfect word for how I percieve him - Smarmy
I love that as a word!
Urban dictionary's description is my fave :
t:That's the problem: I don't find him likable when he's being smarmy. The last time I found Cooper likable was when he was playing the lovesick, devoted best friend in Alias. Ever since, he's simply annoyed me, and it's because he's trying to pull off that macho likable rogue persona which just doesn't work for him, imo.cooper can be smarmy and likable at the same time imo
the likable *****e!!
thats why i love him for nate drake for uncharted
Not even close, though that will clearly change.Pearce and Cavill are pretty much the same recognition-wise.
I kinda do lol For a change I really want to not like him
