I remember hearing that initially, Lex did have hair in the comics but then a misprint made him appear bald and Siegel and Shuster thought it looked cooler, so they left him that way.

Michael C. Hall......good actor, still dont really like him though, oh look, the source of his involvement is Wikipedia....take it away Henry

Hey at least it's not IMDB. :o

I remember when a site (I think it was IMDB but it might have been something else) listed Will Ferrel as a cast member in Batman Begins and people on this board were ready to jump off a bridge over the possibility that he might play the Joker.

Good times, good times. :)

Hey at least it's not IMDB. :o

well to be fair, IMDB did break the news about Carrie Farris.....so thats what? One for One? lol

Wiki on the other hand is constantly being updated, they had Jackie Earl Haley listed as Brainiac for crying out loud lol

Hey. So the CBM article was taken down? When has that site ever taken something down for it being wrong?

EDIT: no, y'know what? It was a different article that was taken down since yesterday. The one mentioned previously is still up NEVERMIND!

However, if you think about it... Michael C Hall is one of a few actors who is talented enough/popular enough to play Lex while still being humble enough to have his name absent from everything related to the film.

I would imagine the only others that meet this description would be other major TV Stars. And B list movie stars. Am I wrong?

Nah, big name actors do cameo roles all the time... and if the cameo is meant to lead into a huge role in the sequel, then they would be even more inclined to do it and keep quiet about it. But yes, obviously, an unknown or lesser-known actor would also have no problem keeping his name absent as well.

Even still. I just watched this video and I have just crossed the threshold into "clamoring" for this casting choice.

It's precisely the Superman/Luthor dynamic. Lex's arrogance brought on by drastically weakening his all-powerful opponent. Certainly a good representation if anyone was skeptical.

And of course I'm a long-time Dexter fan...

I would like to see a story that shows Lex to be a man who wants to be top dog in the world.

A simple game of power between him and Superman.

Superman is this symbol of light and hope. ...and Lex wants to invest his madness, his own money and power into destroying Superman's symbol. Lex would then take over and replace himself in that place.

Lex wants to rule in his power, while Supes is a man who wants to break oppression and bring hope.

In life, we have wise philosophers, who teach us to live our lives in certain ways, that upsets the governments societal rules. Most of those great philosophers are dead.

Now say Supes is this great source of power, hope and freedom. He is a massive influential figure. Governments would not like it. They investigate people like that.

And say for the purpose of the film, Lex represents a government who doesn't want Supes to bring the world into a new light, for whatever reason. He wants to break Supes' power abd inspiring influence, because it messes with his plans and image in life.

So Lex would do what he could to depower and destroy not only Superman, but his very existence as a symbol for good and hope for all.

Or to put it in another way...

Supes is Randall McMurphy and Lex is Nurse Rached from One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest lol

I think an important part of why Lex objects to Superman's heroism isn't just because he thwarts some of his plans or because he's jelous- it's because most of Lex's power and control over people comes through fear, and the belief that the fight against injustice and greed is an impossible one.

He knows that the more Superman inspires people that things CAN change, and encourages them to rise up against injustice, the less of a strong hold he is going to have in Metropolis.

I think RICHARD ARMITAGE would also have good Potential for the Role.

Armitage is an interesting choice. I wouldn't have thought of that one.

Strong is so typecast as a villain, though.

I think Strong is boring choice personally. Not bad, just boring. I'd just like someone a little more unexpected, interesting.

Tilda Swinton. :o:up:

Trying not to read any spoliers regarding this film and anything related to the cueball but I am on board for MCH for Luthor.

Armitage as anyone, yes please.

He's young-ish and able to do some very dark material while remaining charismatic and has some big name build up after the Hobbit films. I'd be interested to see his play on Lex Luthor.

Tilda Swinton. :o:up:
Smart ass. :oldrazz:

I want another WTF choice to most like Hathaway for Catwoman or Ledger for Joker. WTF choices are the most interesting. Amy Adams was kinda that because everybody including myself expected another 25 year old up and commer and not a 37 at the time multi Oscar nominee.
