The Official Lex Luthor Casting Thread - Part 7

For Lex, I think they should go with someone you wouldn't immediately picture as the character if that makes any sense.

And it seems like about the right time to bring up my pic again - Oscar nominated actor Clive Owen :) Some pics from his latest film:

GAH this is brilliant! That's freakin perfection right there...dingdingsding.

That's what I basically did with Strahtam. I didn't give it thought, just pictured him in my head going off of my favorite Lex Luthor stories and art depictions haha. But JESUS is Clive Owen perfect, bah gawd.

There's still plenty of time for casting. All I know is I'll be happy if the first teaser for the second film is even the slightest bit reminiscent of this:

Same here XInfinity. This is my premier moment I want to see between Supes and Lex IF anything....

Clive Owen disappoints me more often than he impresses me. I know everyone likes him but he comes off very wooden to me.

Lex Luthor as a .... well-liked brilliant calculating businessman with political ambitions. Maybe Lana works for LexCorp if they want to go down that particular road.

No favorite for who should play him but Clive Owen isn't a bad choice to me. Others?

Too bad Yul Brynner isn't of this generation

EDIT:BTW I think Clive Owen IS an awesome choice actually

I like the Matt Damon idea. He can pull off anyrole, and unlike Tom Cruise, when he plays a role I don't feel like I'm watching a "Matt Damon" movie, he sort of just disappears into the role he's playing.

Whenever I see a Tom Cruise movie, even the ones I like like Oblivion I feel like I'm watching Tom Cruise. It's an unfortunate side effect of fame because I think Tom Cruise is generally a pretty good actor, but he's overtakes any movie he is in nowadays.

I agree, I just don't think he is that good or interesting of an actor and has never lived up to the hype.

Seriously, what's going on with these casting picks?

What about Zach?

Just, jk... your post just made me think of what the most "out there" casting possibility would be.

On a more serious note the choices I've heard that intrigue me the most are BRADLEY COOPER and LEONDARDO DICAPRIO.

The good thing about Lex Luthor is that he doesn't have to have a specific look besides being caucasion. Which means the critera for Lex is to be white and be a great actor. He doesn't even have to white if they go in the S:TAS direction. So its really wide open for who he could be.

Bald.

Not saying a bald actor -- just he has shave his hair off lol.

I'd say pick someone who can easily pass for someone who acts very approachable and charming in the public light, so that when he finally shows his true colors, or snaps if pushed to his limit, it comes as a shock. And even when he's done that, he always has to have that smug look on his face, like he's not afraid to let you know that he has something up his sleeve or knows something you don't, but won't tell you what it is.

The key to his character is that he thinks he's better than anyone else, knows he's playing his opponents, and enjoys every minute of it. He's a charming character, even when he's trying to take down or kill other characters, but you still can't help but love to hate him.

I've heard people suggest Matt Damon for the part, and I agree. He can play friendly and charming, but also smug, creepy and psychotic.

Rodrigo Santoro could pull it off look wise.

I've seen some truly scary choices, I am so glad none of us are casting MOS2. (If it's made)
