To me Lex is not downright evil. He thinks he is working for the greater good of humanity but of course most of his philosophy about this is wrong and he goes too far to achieve his goals. We are supposed to sympathize with Lex to a certain degree. Isaacs would make me want to jump into the screen and tear his guts out and I dont feel this way for Lex, nor do i want to.

Personally i want the Lex from STAS. Imposing, powerful, brilliant, genius, charming. All that plus being relatively young, about 5-10 years older than Clark, so no Daniel Day Lewis or Mortensen for me.

Bettany is a great actor but... i dont know if he can be imposing. One of my favourites would be Di Caprio, but i would want to see him audition first before i could be sure that he could pull it off.

I have always, and still do, prefer Hugo Weaving for Brainiac. He was born for the role.
I wouldn't be opposed to Isaacs though if it happened.

Isaacs would also make a great Lex, as would, imo, Day-Lewis, Mortensen, Josh Brolin, or Depp.
As long as they get an actor for Lex of the caliber I listed above, i'm good.

for me i said it before i would like a 8-10 yr difference with lex compared to lois and clark. so like a clark/lois at 28-30yrs old so a 38-40yr old lex. So it makes it seem more logical he has climbed up through his life and went from nothing to being a genius and super rich and created his company. Then also the whole if they go political route it looks better having a slightly older age in late 30s/early 40s to gain political control.

Hadn't seen that. Zane would make a good Lex, but I can't help but get that "his time has passed" feeling with him. I guess because I haven't seen him in a movie since... uh... Zoolander? Has he been in anything lately?

I find it highly doubtful Zane is going to be approached for such a major role. Nolan usually aims high for the supporting cast, and certainly for a notable villain.

zone could at least try out for the role if he really wants it. Doesnt mean he will ultimately be picked over others who may be looked at or test for the role.

I really wanted Zane back when all the rumors about SR were flying around..Now, not so much. I wouldn't have a hissy fit or anything if he were picked for Lex, but i'd prefer an A-LIST actor. Day-Lewis, Mortensen, Depp, etc.

Kevin Spacey would have given us a god tier Lex if he was directed accordingly. Instead Lex and the whole movie for that matter were Donner-esque.

Damn, such a missed opportunity. I wouldnt mind if they used him again in Nolan's movie but i'm afraid that it would confuse the audience and wouldnt help send the message that its a reboot.

Yeah, Zane would have made a good Lex in the 90's but it's too late.

DiCaprio would be awesome. I could see that, I wouldn't mind him for The Riddler either. And I think I can see him bald. That image requires alot of thought actually.

Agreed Earle, Spacey could have made an amazing Lex. Se7en and The Usual Suspects prove it. Especially the latter.

In a recent interview director Christopher Nolan has revealed that his latest film "Inception" isnt really a science fiction spy movie, but rather a prequel to his and David Goyer's upcoming Superman film. Originally thought to be a spy movie about stealing information from people's minds, Inception is really about Lex Luthor's origin and how his efforts to save the world have cost him dearly, both psychologically and externally, most prominently his hair and what that means for his future as Superman's archenemy.

Inception opens in 16th of July 2010.

The director also revealed that the movies "the Prestige", "3:10 to Yuma", and "the new world" are actually about Batman. Originally thought to be about two rivaling magicians in Victorian era London, a spaghetti western story and the story of Pocahontas, these movies tell the tale of a time lost Batman. In the upcoming sequel to the Dark Knight it is expected that an evil deity that opposes the Caped Crusader will send him back in time as torture for opposing him. An amnesiac Batman will be time looping around time and battle evil in various eras of history. More films will deal with the other eras that batman visited and complete the puzzle of his journey, his return to our time and his eventual victory over the ultimate evil, as seen in Grant Morrison's Final Crisis and Return of Bruce Wayne comic book series.

Zane certainly looks like the best Lex to me. And his acting isn't all that bad either. Still, i'd prefer a bigger name in the role. But it's not up to me. what will be, will be.
