I'd love to see Rosenbaum as Lex, but i'm afraid of all the connections to Smallville.

that is freakin amazing. best. casting. ever.

damn right,

he stole the show in Star Trek Nemesis from Patrick Stewart and that was more than 8 years back. Its amazing its taken this long for Hardy to get onto the mainstream radar. He deserves it. One hell of an actor.

Really pulls of evil bastard with ease!

I would love to see DiCaprio do something too, although he is a bit more picky when it comes to his roles, he actually waited a few years until Nolan convinced him to do Inception.

But yes, Hardy would definitely have to be top casting choice for WB, there is no other choice for them to consider, grab him now and lets do it now.

I want to see evil Lex done like never before, Hardy will probably create one of the greatest villians in movie history if he gets to do this role.

WB should actually pay Hardy a big bag of money to do the role, because they need some star power for Superman now, no time to waste!

If Joaquin is returning to legitimate acting, this would be one hell of a comeback role for him.

His interview on Letterman seems to indicate that he will be. I'd rather see him as Jor-El, to be honest, but Lex would be pretty sweet too.

I gotta give it to Billy Zane. This would be like the perfect role for him. First of all he already dresses like lex and to me he reminds me a lot Clancy brown's performance from the cartoon. Tom hardy is my 2nd choice.

Tom Hardy will be Lex. I'm willing to make an online bet on that one.

He looks and sounds just like STAS Lex indeed!

But his acting really's not that good. He will not have what the role of Lex requires. And I dont care if he IS bald.

I'm warming to that Tom Hardy suggestion. Phoenix is still my number one choice though and now that he's stopped acting silly there is actually a chance...in my mind.

Hardy might look good, but he doesnt sound. He has a pretty feminine voice if you ask me.

You kidding? His voice sounds great. It's nasal but deep enough. He can sound both menacing and arrogantly sophisticated. He'll do good when he's cast.

Maybe i exaggerated, but its not deep and threatening enough for me.

the movie 'Bronson' disagrees with you...

...besides, Lex's voice doesn't necessarily have to be deep and menacing. despite the way Lex was portrayed in Superman Returns, Kevin Spacey would've been a perfect Lex Luthor if they'd written him better.

He probably would, but I wanna see some new faces. Give me relatively unknowns for this movie's maincast, please! I'm tired of watching Hollywood.

don't get me wrong. i wouldn't want Spacey back...i was just pointing out that Lex doesn't necessarily have to have an imposing voice, since Spacey didn't. personally, i'm rooting for Hardy ALL the way!

Fair enough. I just found his voice in Bronson to be very guttural and sinister.

Hm, he sounds better there, but i still hear Jonathan Rhys Meyers when he talks. And i love JRM, but he is not that manly.

As for Spacey, he is an amazing actor, so yeah, under the right script/director, he could have been the second best Lex ever. My first best would be a young Clancy Brown. Damn, i cant get over his awesome voice.

You think that Spacey sounds manly/you think that he has a deep commanding voice? That I don't understand.

He is. :yay:

I liked him in the part, but he had a campy comedic twist which was WROOONG!

This time give me a real nasty Lex, please!
