Again, it'll go down that route of using a vetern actor (Hackman, Spacey) for Lex. Even though Snyder's Lex may be more comic-book accurate, I want someone closer to Henry Cavill's age.

If we're wanting to skew younger for Lex Luthor, how about 34-year-old Benedict Cumberbatch? He's best known for his role as Sherlock Holmes in the BBC's modern-day retelling Sherlock, in which he gets the whole mercurial genius thing down pat. Him being British could further antagonise the "Superman should be American" crowd though.

Not sure if he has been mentioned before, but for a younger Lex Luthor how about Ben Foster.

Cruise is a great actor. While it's true that he often reverts back to a bit of a persona like in Knight & Day and the Mission:Impossible films, many major stars do this... if Jack Nicholson and Bruce Willis are allowed to get away with it, I don't see why Cruise can't. He's more than proven himself as a versatile actor in A Few Good Men, Born on the Fourth of July, The Last Samurai, Magnolia, etc.

Also, BigA... I like the suggestion of Foster. He looks like he has the devil in his eyes, lol.

Lex Luthor needs to be a man's man. Not a creepy little bastard like ben foster. I like foster, but that would be a huge case of miscasting.

Bradley Cooper

Tried out for the part of Hal Jordan in Green Lantern and adaquately played the famous conman "Face" from The A-Team. Has a smarmy, dick-ish quality to most of his characters, could cross over very well to a business man Lex Luthor

Rodrigo Santoro

I've never really heard him attempt an American accent, in fact, I'm not even sure if Xerxes voice was his in the movie 300, but if he can channel Xerxes again for Snyder he could be a good Lex

Jude Law

I think Sherlock Holmes and Repo Men proved he is capable of handling sci-fi, and perhaps would make a good mad scientist Luthor as well.

Jude Law's strange. I've seen him in numerous good roles, enough to surely acknowledge that he's a strong actor... but I just can't bring myself to like the guy. It's like an irrational hatred. Perhaps that's a quality that would be good to have in Lex Luthor, though.

Jude Law would be a good choice as Lex.

He has been suggested many times in the past for Zod....but Lex might be more ideal for him.

I like the idea of Jude as Lex. Cooper... not sure. Maybe, though. Hell no to Rodrigo Santoro, though. If that guy was any more bland, he'd be tofu.

I want Mad Scientist Luthor so bad.

He's IMO a much more interesting character than business Lex.

I like Ben Foster, but I think he would be more suited to play someone crazy like the joker.

Ah, matt damon is a good one too.

I was thinking of Matt Damon myself. He's a big enough name to please the "Lex should be a big star" crowd, and is also a great actor. At first glance the role seems way against type for him, but on the rare occasions he HAS played villains (The Talented Mr Ripley, The Departed, even Dogma) he's done it very well.
