She's a great actress (who's shown more range than Wilde), but I don't think she's right for Lois, especially her voice.

I agree... I think it's just because people keep suggesting Wilde and I REALLY don't like her for the role... so i'm looking at everyone else in a new light

I don't believe she does.

I believe she looks like she belongs in high school or college when she is playing the role of someone in high school or college.

She is 24 years old, and would turn 25 while they were filming. For a Superman story that very much seems to be a beginnings from what we've heard so far, I don't see much of an issue. By the time the film comes out, she will be 26, so by the time a sequel comes out (based on Batman Begins (2005) and The Dark Knight (2008) she would be 29 - and that's when we are expecting her to be a major role in the film...

Personally, I agree. I just don't think being 24 should rule you out.

no...as long as you can portray and age a few years older than you or even so, look your own age, and Stroup does, there is no problem

Depends on the looks. I don't think she needs to look younger then 26. Otherwise, I think it'd be too young.

I think Rossum would be another good choice . She can certainly act and she looks the role to me . As for the age thing I think 24 is ok given Cavill is 27. It's not a great age gap and since Welling and Durance are in their 30's and playing 20 somethings , i wouldn't mind if we actually had a 24 or 25 year actress play Lois.

I'm surprised a follow up announcement hasn't come out yet no matter what the role is. Secretly though, I'm hoping the lead female isn't Lois. Smallville has wiped me out with silly Clois drama

That is the only reason for Jessica Stroup not getting a screen test that I would conceed too... I can understand them wanting SOME star power in the film, and if not the lead man, it's got to be Lois really.
