No Kate Bosworth was the worst thing. At least Margot had some personality.
We need someone with the looks AND personality.

I thought she looked good in the first 2 but as the series went on she really showed her age. I think that's why you should cast someone that is close to Cavill's age or a bit younger. Some people age really well and some do not.

To each his own, of course. Me personally, one of post-puberty kryptonites when getting wood has been the thought of Margot Kidder in any of the 4 films.

Of course, it doesn't help that I hated her portrayal and I hated her version of Lois Lane. Why would anyone in their right mind want too be with that?

I thought her portrayal would have been okay if they hadn't had her chain smoke through the whole thing. I know it was the 70s, but I don't care. That was never an attractive habit.

Clark's thought process as he's doing the "memory kiss" in Superman II:

"Okay, now all I have to do is kiss her and she'll forget everything."

I don't see Lois as being a mens mag favourite. In my mind she's pretty average. Maybe its Margot Kidder's image in my mind but she's never a character that struck me as hot. She's not overly sexual. I always get the sense she'd rather work 24/7 than make time for nookie. Its just an impression but when people post sexy photoshoots of any actress I don't see Lois.

I agree. I never saw Lois as glamorous. Sure, she likes to look good, but I don't think she's the type to spend too much time put makeup on.

I don't think Mary Winstead has that pushy, aggressive, career woman quality to her. They need someone who can convey those qualities and Winstead doesn't strike me as believing those qualities.

I don't see the problem with having an attractive Lois. Magazine photos are made to look extra glamorous. They can be toned down for films. Like Charlize Theron and Jolie for example. They look extra glossy on a magazine but look normal on film. People think that having a hot Lois might overshadow Superman or something but that is not how things work. Many films have hot woman drawn to less attractive men. It's could be about mystique, wealth, or just plain appeal. In real life hot woman are drawn to sports players and artists. If Superman existed in real life you would have tons of beautiful woman swooning over him. If you create a scene where Superman is flying over a crowd and beautiful woman are going nuts people will buy it. They aren't gonna think, hey Lois is pretty hot herself, she wouldn't go for him.

I agree the heavy chain smoking definitly left her alot skinnier and haggard. But Margot herself wasn't unnatractive IMO. Plus, I think she gave Lois alot of quirks and personality.

She wasn't at-all bad looking in her youth and then in the screentests/ first movie.

But I think after the 70's, throughout the 80's she heavily smoked probably 10-15 a day which really took a toll on her appearance, face & body.

Which meant she ended up looking like this, fast.

Pretty old looking.


But... I still say she made a great Lois Lane. Margot herself comes across as an independent and sassy woman, all throughout her career. Even in her 50's and 60's she still has that smart-ass attitude. To me, Margot is most like Lois Lane herself IMO. She just seems like an inpendent very funny lady.

I just have a hard time imagining WB, Nolan, Snyder etc. (who all seem like they know WTF they're doing) involving Lindsay Lohan with this project in any kind of meaningful way. She's soooo damaged goods.
