I liked her performance, but there is something so incredibly dead in her eyes in spite of that role. I won't doubt her talent, but she seems incapable of shaking the cold vibe she gives off. It's why I can't ever support her for this role. It's important for me to look in Lois' eyes and immediately see that fire and excitement.

That's strange, I've never gotten a cold vibe from emily in any role.

You're fighting a losing battle. Especially considering who Snyder cast as Martha Kent.. it's very unlikely he'll cast a 'meh' looking Lois Lane.

I'm gonna have to assume you're thinking of the wrong woman, as I think she easily has one of the best looks for the role.



Exactly the right mix of beauty, edginess, and innate softness that I imagine a lot of guys would find very charming. Her age is still a minor concern for me in carrying a franchise, but as for the here-and-now I think she's got little competition in way of acting merit and compatibility for the role.

What year are those from? The last movie I see her in was Eagle Eye and she didn't look like that And yeah she is too old for the role now. I imagine they will cast someone who is actually younger than Cavill.

Nope, my eye candy is already cast; Henry Cavill.
He also happened to be the best actor as well, so it's the best of both worlds for me.

That can still be the case, although it doesn't matter if she really IS attractive, since Superman isn't falling in love with her for that reason.

Then there's the other camp who want Lois to just be as ***** hot as possible.

I get that Lois isn't just a hot piece of ass, she isn't one of Bruce Wayne or Tony Stark's half naked bimbos, and pretty much everyone knows that.

But there's nothing wrong with her being attractive, like alot of people have said, she has to catch the attention of men like Lex Luthor and Bruce Wayne, she's not gonna do that looking like Plain Jane.


The sad truth is, from a guys point of view that the more gorgeous, or glamourous a girl is, the more stuck up and beauty obbsessed she seems to be. Lois is so not like that, she's the complete oppisite, in fact she was an oppionated tomboy for most of her teenage years, and we saw some of that in Smallville.

Lois' beauty is more subtle. She kinda covers herself up in businuess outfits to look more professional but you get the feeling if she wore a bikni she would be smoking hot. She just doesn't like to be seen that way.


What I'm trying to say is Lois can still be very attractive, but resents anyone thinking that's all there is to her. Hardly anyone thinks of Lois as 'just hot', they all think of her as the hard working, ambitious, witty, outspoken, independent woman she is.

And that obviously has to come across in her character onscreen and in the actress.



I know that Olivia Wilde resents the idea of just being known as 'the eye candy' which is why she likes being seen in strong roles. I think she'd be great in the part.

I do kind of agree with everything you said. She doesn't have to be unattractive, i've said that before.

My main arguement against Wilde is how she is percieved before the movie begins. She may not want to be 'the eye candy' but I don't know many guys who see her beyond a hot peice of ass. And that's why i'd rather she wasn't Lois.

But I don't agree with the bolded part. I think a plain jane has every capability of catching the eye of Luthor and Wayne, if she's Lois Lane. She's an incredible woman.

It's definitely gotten to the point where I don't hate her anymore. She's just not what I want. I'm sure that she could pull of a take on Lois that no one has before, I just don't think it'd be the kind of take that I'd love.
