I feel like Olivia is going to get it. I feel like the support she has is just too great to ignore. She appears to have everything required to play a kickass lois and no deal breaking drawbacks. It would be quite surprising to me if Lois was announced and it turned out to be someone different. I wouldn't be opposed to another actress, it would just be a little shocker for me

Fan support means nothing. I wouldn't be shocked because she's the right age, has the talent, a good look for Lois and is a rising star. It just makes sense TO ME.

I also wouldn't be surprised if it's someone different. I just want to know.

Do you read the comics? Lois Lane is gorgeous in the comics. Also why does she have to not be that gorgeous to be a journalist?
And the men in comics look like bodybuilders on steroids who have muscles on top of their muscles with muscles on top of that that're on steroids. Both genders in comics are sexual visual extremes, that's just how comics are drawn. But we're not advocating men who look like that get cast in superhero movies for sake of a faithful visual translation, are we? It would look ridiculous. Same thing on the female side. Women are just objectified more in society, so we're used to it, but it would be just as harmful to the story.

Oy, knew someone was going to try and go there at some point. :whatever:

Obviously... :whatever: That's pretty much understood. People who are for an attractive Lois are not talking about having a Playboy-esk woman half naked with her breast falling out, showing midriff in a mini-mini skirt. But what we are saying is that a beautiful Lois (Yes also one that can be convincing in the role) would not harm but be a plus. And given the actor cast as Superman would be invited and almost expected by the audience. Also there are many many illustrations of Superman in the comics that don't have the Muscles on Muscles.

Speak for yourself lol!

I have only seen Wilde in some episodes of House and she seems very low key. Can she play Bubbly, confident, Vivacious, headstrong?? If circumstances had been different Erica Durance would have been perfect for the movie Lois. Hopefully they'll cast someone very similar. Btw I like Wilde's look but whether she can pull of a credible Lois I really don't know. Need to see her display more range of emotion. How was she in Tron Legacy?

Yep. Female television journalists are typically VERY ATTRACTIVE, especially these days. Many so-called movie stars pale in comparison to them, in my opinion.

oh i think olivia can convey the strength and seriousness of lois perfect she does that very well

she seems very funny in interview but just has'nt gotten a role that could show it

She was pretty good. But it was a supporting role and she wasn't exactly playing a human character. But then again, I thought the movie was superb and Hedlund's performance to be pretty good as well, so what do I know right.

I liked the film too, and I agree, Wilde and Hedlund did a good job.

(Waits for legion of film snobs to show up and tell me how stupid I am).

I kinda picture Lois Lane as having the drive and fearlessness of Laura Logan , the vunerability and charm of a younger Katic Couric, and the look of closer to Norah O'Donnell or Campbell Brown. At least , that 's what I think Lois would realistically be like in 2011 .

Anyway, regardless , I agree that it wouldn't be unrealistic for a journalist like Lois to be a knock out. She doesnt have to be imo, but it wouldn't be the end of the world if she was.

As long as she is portrayed correctly, it shouldn't matter if the actress, whoever that may be, is 'hot' or not.

Besides, how does the way Lois looks going to effect the story in any way? Since Clark loves her for who she is, the way she looks shouldn't matter.

I wonder how Teresa Palmer would look brunette...

She looks great. I've never thought of her before but she would be a good Lois.

I'm not a fan of her bland acting. It was a godsend she wasn't able to be Talia in the shelved JLA movie.

Have you seen '2:37' and 'Restraint'? She's really good in them, imo.
