you know what, at this point I just want to know who's been picked lol, I've had enough reading about who we all want........lets see who Snyder wants for a change :P

I'm not a fan of her bland acting. It was a godsend she wasn't able to be Talia in the shelved JLA movie.

Why must you hate everything I love?! :cmad::csad:

But, yeah, that JLA movie would've been a disaster. Not because of her though. :o

^ Some people need to get that through their thick ****in' heads.

Olivia does a convincing doctor of all professions on house yet is too pretty for a journalist lol

Guys, let's keep in mind that Lois might not even be in this movie. I want her to be and I really wanna see McAdams as the character.

But let's not get our hopes up that we're gonna c any certain actress in the role when there's a 50/50 chance that she might not even make an appearance in the film.

I'd be shocked if lois isn't in, even if it's a small role.

I think she will be, I reckon much like Birthright she'll show up after about 45 mins or sp

Half the movie, I think will be pre-Metropolis, then the other half will be Metropolis. So HOPEFULLY, if Lois isn't shown throughout the whole movie, she will be shown at least in the last half of the movie. Superman - Lois = bland. She is the one thing that makes him human-ish.

Hopefully, they have Clark Kent's alter ego Superman instead of the other way around like they did in the original movies. Superman was too robot-ish.

But back to the point, OLIVIA WILDE FOR LOIS.

unless they introduce a new character to replace lois lane's role.

well...our personalities ARE shaped by our upbringings ;) she said herself that she's critical and analytical. these are also personality traits that not everyone has...but she attributes those traits directly with the fact that she comes from a family of journalists. regardless of the sort of world or journalism portrayed in Metropolis, she should still feel like a reporter....and again, i don't see how coming from a family of journalists can be spun to be anything but an asset.

I dunno, I'd just go with an actress with experience in Lois Lane like roles (Rachel McAdams), over an actress with experience in real life Journalism anyday.

gosh, i am so annoyed with hearing. "she is too hot for lois... she is too sexy... she is too stunning"

that is the probably stupidest argument ive ever heard and its is ridiculous that so many people are using it. come up with a legitimate reason. jeezus

People have come up with legitimate reasons for why they believe Olivia Wilde is 'too hot' or as I put it 'too much a sex symbol' to play Lois Lane, and posted them throughout this thread.

If you are going to attempt to undermine people's opinions, at least be bothered to actually read what they've said and comment on it, instead of making yourself look dismissive and disrespectful.

People are basing their opinion on her glammed up red carpet pictures. She will be in a business suit for most of the time. When she DOES make an effort you see how hot she is.

As I keep saying (although at this point I feel like i'm talking, and people are just staring at Olivia's boobs going 'huh, what she say? Olivia Wilde for Lois Lane!)

I don't think it's just her appearance that's the problem, but that she is considered a sex symbol by almost everyone I know. Whether she wanted it that way or not, she is percieved as something to... drool... over (there I put it politely).

Regardless of her ability to act the character (which I personally don't feel from her), her being in the film would have an effect on the expectations of the audience. And they would have to do a lot of work to make Lois Lane more than just the eye candy of the Superhero movie, the peice of ass by his side (which she deserves).

I have no doubt Olivia Wilde could play a great Journalist.

I just don't think she would make a good Lois Lane.

For goodness sakes, look at what a test pilot/future owner of a airforce base in GL looks like:

blake-lively-untagged-08.jpg

I know, I was pretty upset with the casting in GL too :whatever:

I feel like Olivia is going to get it. I feel like the support she has is just too great to ignore. She appears to have everything required to play a kickass lois and no deal breaking drawbacks. It would be quite surprising to me if Lois was announced and it turned out to be someone different. I wouldn't be opposed to another actress, it would just be a little shocker for me

I think Olivia has as much support as John Hamm or Joe Manganiello did. I think Rachel McAdams is as popular a choice across the board as Henry Cavill was.

I think Olivia may get a shot (if she even wants it or has time for it), but I will be very surprised if she gets it.

Obviously... :whatever: That's pretty much understood. People who are for an attractive Lois are not talking about having a Playboy-esk woman half naked with her breast falling out, showing midriff in a mini-mini skirt. But what we are saying is that a beautiful Lois (Yes also one that can be convincing in the role) would not harm but be a plus. And given the actor cast as Superman would be invited and almost expected by the audience. Also there are many many illustrations of Superman in the comics that don't have the Muscles on Muscles.

ALL hollywood actresses are beautiful IMO. So it's not really a question of that for me. If they cast McAdams, I don't anyone is gonna be going 'oh they went with the ugly girl'.

But I see Olivia Wilde AS a Playboy-esk woman. I think she'd make an absolutely amazing Lara Croft for example. I could even see her as Ripley if they did an Alien remake. Just Not Lois Lane.

oh i think olivia can convey the strength and seriousness of lois perfect she does that very well

Strong and serious... yeah Lois Lane in a nutshell... :whatever:

Anyone mention Katie Cassidy yet?

weird no one has brought that up yet, to my knowledge. it better NOT be true. i hope them incorrectly stating that this is a sequel to 'Superman Returns' is an indication of to the validity of the article...

edit: here quote is quite telling...
Christina Hendricks said:

“I’ve been telling everyone for weeks now about how I get to play Lois Lane. It’s a big deal. There are a few characters throughout your life which everyone knows and this is one of them. I can’t wait.”
...this makes me think she was talking about All-Star Superman, where she voices Lois Lane. she wouldn't be telling everything "for weeks now" that she had gotten the role of the live action Lois Lane or else we would've heard about it by now.

Would Emmy Rossum be too young?

McAdams would have been a decent choice for the classic Lois Lane (had she been younger than the male lead), same with Deschanel and many others.

However, she's wrong for the modern Lois, and they are going 'modern' with these characters based on the Cavill press junket.

No and I think she'd work well with Cavill and vbisuallly they make a nice pair. She is in my list of Lois candidates.

Again, you're not grasping my post so I'm having to repeat myself. I don't want to do this again.

You are right. Yes, please don't.

My point was this entire "Well, we won't know until the screen test" thing is bull because:

1) You and I aren't gonna see the screen test, so we may as well leave this board and never come back and 2) Yes you will know before the screen test! because if you know what you're talking about, you can tell who's gonna work well together.

Well, I usually have no idea what I'm talking about, so there! :woot: I thought I come to this board to hang out and have some light-hearted fun with fellow Superman and Cavill fans

If my predictions are too general for you, Dar, and you'd really like me to get specific name some names and I'll tell you how well I'd think they'd do with Cavill and as Lois in general. Like I said, you can save my post and put it to the test later: whoever is cast, I'm gonna end up being right about. Not that you seem to respect my opinion in the first place, but as I stated, I've been right every time before when everyone else called me an idiot, so I have a pretty good track record.

 For the record, I never attacked or disrespected you or your opinion. I merely disagreed.

So moving on, this Christina Hendricks thing isn't for real, right? http://www.showbizspy.com/article/227908/christina-hendricks-excited-to-play-lois-lane.html

No, the people who wrote that Christina Hendricks article either got their lines crossed, or are deliberately trying to bullsh** people. Those quotes from her were taken from an interview she did for All-Star Superman.

That being said, I actually really like the idea of Hendricks as Lois Lane. Although, that would mean she'd either have to dye her hair or wear a wig, and since she's already the picture of my ideal woman, I'd hate to see her change a thing about her appearance.
