Seriously, Stroup does have a great look for Lois, but this really seems to be a case of people casting on looks alone. I mean... even the people that SUPPORT her don't seem to know if she can act or not. Maybe she's good, I don't know... but it just feels like the days of the Superman casting threads when people (myself included, admittedly) were going, "HEY! This guy has blue eyes and a big chin! He was in a Honda commercial and an episode of Monk five years ago! Maybe he can play Superman!"

That was fun times!

I'll admit, that I don't know how good her acting is. Having only seen her in one (90210), despite the fact I think she was very good in that role, I have no idea of her capabilities as an actress outside of a teen drama.

But that's because she hasn't been given that shot yet.

As someone else said, Kidder wasn't exactly a famous actress. But she and Reeve had the chemistry that was wanted, and she had the spark that every actress requires for Lois.

Jessica Stroup is a pipe dream. Why do I keep bringing her up? Because pretty soon i'm gonna have to give up that dream (when they announce they've cast McAdams or Wilde or Biel or someone else 'famous'), and I want to pretend while I still can, and post pics of her looking and sounding and acting Lois like, just to remind everyone why I thought she could have been perfect.

I dont know what it is about Wilde,but she makes me so depressed.

TBH, we've been talking about her so much, that she's in my head a lot of the time... and the more time goes on, the more I think I wouldn't hate her for Lois anymore.

I prefer her to many many suggestions. I prefer her to Biel, Greene, Winstead, Kendrick etc.

But i'd be happier with McAdams, Monaghan, Blunt, Deschanel and of course Stroup

I thought she might work, despite being so young and girly in Kick Ass. After watching her in Nikkita, I saw a whole new side to her. She still does strike me as a bit too young, but I'd be happy if she was cast.

I'm beginning to think you need a lobotomy. I'd love to know how logic works in your brain. I'm guessing your theories on the rest of the cast go something like this:

Billy Zane will play Lex Luthor because he played The Phantom who wears purple and I think there's purple kryptonite or something!

Daniel Day Lewis will play Zod because he's a general and DDL was born in London as were many generals throughout British history!

Henry Cavill was cast as Superman because he's dating a girl who rides horses and Christopher Reeve's horrible accident was because of a horse!

I'm not reading 34 pages so my apologies if someone already suggested it, but I really enjoy Sasha Shahi's work on Fairly Legal.

Hot, dark hair and sassy. Also she's 30, which as much as I like Erica Durance, just does not look. Point being she's believable as a well established, award winning journalist.

She's obviously relatively unknown which I think could work just fine given the names they're going after in other roles (Costner, Lane, Hugh Laurie anyone???). Margot Kidder had less on her resume at the time of Superman.

Hi I am new here. Superman has been my favorite hero since I was little.
I wouldn't mind Olivia Wilde as Lois, but she is not attractive to me at all. She's got a lantern jaw, and even though she is younger than Cavill, she looks about 10 years older. She does look the part more than Bosworth or even Kidder though. I'd still prefer Rachel Mcadams.

Speaking of females with manly features, Tom Welling is a male with girly features. I am SO relieved he was not cast. Not that he is bad looking but he's got big red lips, big round eyes, and flared up nostrils that look ok on girls (Kreuk, Shui Ling) but I personally can't stand on guys (Chris Pine, James Marsden). Not to mention a high girly voice. He does not remotely look like Superman to me. I always found it hysterical when Welling supporters called Routh or Cavill 'pretty' when Welling is much prettier and girly faced than either of them and most other guys for that matter. And Superman should be handsome not pretty. Sorry for the rant. Probably the wrong place to do it and certainly it doesn't matter anymore but had to get it out.
