Agreed. We've clearly entered into the "Are we there yet?" stage of things.
It's hard to when things get so damn crazy.I'm almost getting to the point where I won't care anymore.
But look at the ages of the women WB just cast in TDKR and GL, the young ladies are both a good deal younger than their co-stars. I'm sorry but I'm sensing a trend. I'm expecting an actress 22 to 28 to get the role and we probably haven't even seriously mentioned her in this thread. I'm expecting a surprise to all of us.
Oh I'm pretty insane, that post was just one of my few moments of sanity.Quoted for Truth.
At least someone isn't bat**** insane.
After seeing Emily Blunt in The Adjustment Bureau I think she'd do a great job.
OF course, some people here would moan as "she's not American!!!"

I don't understand why that's such a tough claim to believe. Film directors do exist in the world, you know?Claiming you're a film director is pretty funny. Like that's true.
It's like me saying I'm a serial killer.
True. I understand. I'm not saying you should believe me just because of my job. Someone asked me outright my profession, so I told them, so that's how it got out there. I hope that you wouldn't listen to anyone just because of some job claim anyway, but rather the intelligence of my posts, which do display knowledge of the subjects discussed, whether I'm a film director or not. Uwe Boll would probably just post something like, "Olivia Wilde should be Lois, believe me 'cause I'm a film director." Hopefully, I don't write shallow posts and ask you to believe me on pure faith and cite my job as the only back-up. That would be absurd. I hope, instead, I write substantive, knowledgeable posts and the reason I'm able to do that is because I just so happen to have spent my life in this field, so I have an entire background of education. You don't need to believe that just based on my claim, but within the knowledge displayed in my words.GA1U5 you say you're a filmmaker so you know better than us, right? Well, you need to see it from are side man. I mean you could be Uwe Boll for all we know.
So, wait. First you don't believe I'm a film director, but now I'm not "that good" of one. I'm movin' up in the world.I doubt he's that good.
I know, man, I know. I'm supposed to be writing a treatment and I've spent the last week procrastinating by writing on this board instead. It's bad. I really shouldn't be here, but I can't stop. You want to help me on my treatment? I'm actually serious. I need to work and can't stop wasting time on here.If GA1U5 was a film director, or film maker, he wouldn't be wasting time on a site like this.
Unless his movies are bad where he's not getting anymore work...
We can both agree on that! I want to know.Only if i can do my evil laugh, Muwahahahahahaha!!
...Man, I'm pretty sure I am starting to go insane with the lack of news. I just want to know who Lois is already.
Anna Kendrick is the one in the right age range. This thread has really gone bat-s**t insane.
Anyway I hope I'm wrong but I think people are picking actresses who are going to be seen as too old for this role. Rashida Jones is 35 so unless WB goes against the modern trend of casting the female younger by atleast a year (more like 3 or 4 really), I don't see them choosing a woman in her mid or late 30's. Personally I would be a little surprised if Biel got the role because she is a little older than her co-star but she is still under 30 so I could see her bucking the trend a little bit.

If they go younger my pick is Kendrick. I love Wilde's look, but Anna has a great performance in Up in the Air. Acting trumps looks for me.

I was watching the Lois Lane auditions last night on the Superman: The Movie special features disc. It's remarkable seeing those auditions because you see the subtle yet critical differences between all the actresses and there's a striking parallel to today.
So many pretty dark-haired women auditioned for the role and they all "looked the part" because, as we've discussed here ad nauseam, so many different women can simply "look the part" of Lois Lane, but only one was Lois Lane.
Margot Kidder jumps off the screen. She had something in that role that none of the other actresses had by a long shot, an absolutely vivacious quirky charisma. She just had so much character. The way she spoke her lines, her delivery, her emphasis on certain words, her body language, the way she looked at Superman... electrifying. And all the other actresses, while being perfectly competent, they were so... lifeless.
And I thought it was a perfect analogy to today and the discussions we're having on this board. I just kept imagining, instead of Anne Archer, Olivia Wilde. Instead of Leslie Ann Warren, Jessica Biel. Instead of Stockard Channing, Rachel McAdams. All fine actresses, all look the part and could certainly play the part competantly and no one would complain, but they don't have that x-factor, they don't have the magic, they don't have that spark that just lights up the screen and brings the character pulsating to life.
It became strikingly clear to me when I watched those auditions that we need far more than just some pretty dark-haired actress to play this role. We need someone who has true charisma, who has that spark, and not just "a little bit." Not like, "Well I think Olivia Wilde has a spark." "Well I don't think she does." "Well she does to me." NO!. I'm talking about someone whose charisma is undeniable, someone who reaches out from the screen and punches you in the face with her Lois Lane charisma. Someone who can deliver every line and make it hilarious, someone who can be charming and sarcastic and sharp as a tack, but also melt in Superman's arms. Margot Kidder had it when you combined her with that certain role, the perfect charisma, the perfect screen presence for this one part. So there's bound to be someone out there right now who has it, too. That's who we need as our modern Lois. Not an assembly line of interchangable brunettes. The woman who was born to play Lois Lane in 2011.
If you don't agree with me, check out the auditions here and hopefully you'll see what I'm saying: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tz87CCKuZjw&feature=player_embedded
I've said before that I think Selma Blair might have been that person, but admittedly she's too old now. We actually have the actor in the movie who was born to play Superman for this generation (I can't believe he was actually cast). So who could this young firecracker be who was born to play Lois Lane? If we actually get those two together, this movie will go down in history.
Olivia Wilde would be great as Ursa or one of Lex's henchmanShe could be Ursa.
