But i guess it all boils down to the chemistry with Cavill

I think McAdams is by far the best choice. Probably the best actress out of the bunch as well.

I don't mind a slightly older actress. It will be hard to take lois seriously if they look like they're still in their teenage year.

McAdams doesn't have a supermodel hotness, but she's very underrated as an actress, and can be much more charming than any of the other actresses on the list. It's hard to imagine KStew giving a performance that isn't awkward and half asleep. Akerman makes me cringe when she 'acts.'

Akerman, if she gets it, only gets it cause she worked with Snyder in a prior film, and she wasn't that good in it.

Plus it appears her schedule is WIDE open during the period when Man Of Steel is scheduled to shoot.

If it's down to Biel and McAdams, Id prefer Biel. I think shes beautiful and talented and dont really get the fanboy dislike of her. I like McAdams I just dont like her for Lois, she always seems way older than she is.

Out of that (disappointing) list of names, McAdams without a doubt would be my first choice. I don't think she is the best option for the role, but I think she could be very good, even great. Biel is a distant second, just not a fan of her, then Akerman, I guess. I don't know anything about Agron, but she looks way too young for the role, younger than Bosworth. Stewart, just, no. To follow the casting of Cavill with Stewart? No thanks.

So if it has to be one of the choices on that list, I really hope they pick McAdams. I would be disappointed with any of the others.

I'm sorry to go all fanboy-ish on people but to be fair Lois DOES have to be hot. She has to be that woman that men would strive to be with.

She is funny, intelligent, quick and sexy. She is the woman who can bring a Superman to his knees.

But.... she can't be a sex siren. She has to look like a believeable ace reporter and someone women can relate to as well.

I understand what people mean when they say Oliva Wilde is a little too.... sexy. It's kind of hard to explain.

I don't mean to bring her up again but I just feel Jessica Stroup has the look and appeal that women relate to. She can be tough and foreceful but still come across as a good person and she is sexy enough to appeal to men.

You need that balance with Lois, you can't have it all one way or all another way.

Agree with you on everything. There are some actresses suggested that I consider 'sex symbols', and that's just not what I want for Lois.

Jessica Stroup is 'cute' and 'attractive', but she's not overtly sexed up.

can we all just agree on Evangeline and be done with it?

I think she looks great net to Cavill, and there are parts of what i've seen of her style that i'd like for the role...

But there is something missing for me... the mischeivious fun side. I've never seen that glint in her eye, that sly/coyness, that 'i'm going to smile sweetly at you, then do the complete opposite of what you just asked me to' mischief that Lois always secretly enjoys.

See that's kinda what I like about her. A Lois that doesnt look like she needs to be saved and can take care of her self...til she gets in over her head.
Some of these other choices are so...uh soft.

considering this is supposedly a retelling of Superman's beginnings...nope. i don't have an issue with younger women playing Lois as long as they can project a maturity beyond their age, which i feel Stroup does pretty well. besides, younger actresses will probably still look good 5 to 8 years from now if a third movie is made, where as an actress in her 30's might be looking rough by then.

I LOVE Alison Brie, but would she have time? She is already doing two TV shows. She can take roles in smaller films with a 30 day shooting schedule (which she'd only be needed for 7 or 8), but I question if she really has the time to take the female lead in a big budget, multi-month shoot project like Superman?
