I've been a fan of McAdams as an actress but never considered her for Lois until I saw her turn in State of Play. Like I posted earlier, if you have doubts about McAdams as Lois, you need to watch her in that movie.

State of Play would be a reason I'm for her as Lois. She was very good in that film, though I'd want her Lois to be much more firm than that character was (though she was far from frail in that film).

Feel free to disagree, I don't really care, none of these girls have shown me anything other than 'ok'.

Someon who feels so strongly about the subject should have an inkling of an idea what he wants.

It could be worse we could be stuck with Horseface Hathaway.

On the Mandy Moore suggestion, good actress but not Lois. Mandy Moore has become talented in recent years (see Saved!), but I don't see her as Lois. She seems too nice. Even in Saved!, while a bad person, she came off as a sweetheart. She is always the sweetheart. I don't see Lois.

Joseph Gordon Leavitt for Lois Lane! Everybody thinks he's a great actor, right?

I liked her in Saved! but... come on, really?
she's not exactly the tough as nails type but at this point, with all the names being listed...i think i'd rather see Mandy than any of those names.

true she's a real sweetheart and not exactly the aggressive type but it really depends on how they write the character. if they write her in scenes where she's supposed to be pushing for an interview then she'll act accordingly....but she's very likable and she looks more like Lois than most of the women being discussed lately. as i said, in light of recent rumors and names being brought up, i'd rather see her than most of the ladies being discussed.

besides, her and Cavill would look SMASHING together.

damn jmc you could'nt even offer a suggestion to back up your claims

Someone suggested Missy Peregrym a few pages back, that girl has got the talent but she won't get a look in so it's pointless bringing her name up.

Throwing my vote for Wilde as far as who's on the list.Young and still looks like a woman that could take care of herself.

Her career is heating up and this is the next logical step: Big franchise.

they'll sign her for three pictures and get her while she's cheap.

Does Lois Lane need to be white? I mean I get comic book accuracy and I'm not saying get a black person just to have racial diversity. But I don't think being white really has to define Lois. Also I think they need to cast an actress with some meat on her. Bosworth left a bad skinny taste in my mouth.

According to latinoreview Ms. Wilde also screentested along with the other candidates mentioned and all i can say is please god give the role to her. Out of everyone mentioned I feel that she is not only the most beautiful, but she also has the most mesmerizing screen presence and can actually act. She was one of the more exciting things about tron for me. NOt to mention she is tiny and will make Cavill look well, larger and more imposing. Give the role to that goddess of a women please.

It's great to envision an idealized world where everyone is colorblind, but that's not how it works. Being white is as part of her iconography as the black hair, thin frame, and pretty face.

Didn't we already try this, cough Beyonce cough. Yes preferably the actress that is chosen would resemble the Lois from the books of almost 80 years.

Beyonce is a horrible actress but there are plenty of black actresses (and actresses of other ethnicities) that could play the part. I think Paula Patton would make a GREAT Lois Lane.

Don't misread Latinoreview, the only candidate they confirmed that also tested was McAdams, not the others.

As for Lois' race. White, with maybe a little Latin thrown in. She's been drawn and colored to be tan every so often.

I agree that Lois' ethnicity is not essential to her characterization. That's why I think Rashida Jones would be an excellent choice for Lois. Someone mentioned the Lois Lane iconography, and I think Rashida meets each of those criterion. She just happens to be a person of color.

Wb won't risk casting someone who's obviously ethnic. there's already a lot of buzz because Cavill isn't American, what more if one of the main characters isn't Caucasian?

My main pic is Mary Elizabeth Winstead. She can totally do it.
i have my doubts about MEW. she often comes off as dull.

We don't even know if the list is legit, this is all just hypothetical.

Well they said that it isn't official and that they can't comment on the source. but according to their source Wilde did actually screentest for the role. Ill take it with a grain of salt but they arent normally very misleading with their reports sooooo.....We will C.
