Days of Future Past The Official Lucas Till/Havok Thread

i believe that AICN article said Alex Summers by name

I see. At first I was thinking they might be pulling a Prof. X/Juggernaut and not make them related.

I'm interested in how all these characters are going to tie in to other ones.

At this point I wouldn't be surprised if Havok is Cyclops' dad in this universe.

I don't think anyone other than fans of the comics/shows would even notice or remember that Scott's last name is the same as Havok's, so the movie will probably coast right past that detail

My gut feeling is that Havoc is a failed student in that unlike Cyclops he isn't a leader and he is a bit rebellious and that could set up for a sequel were we Cyclops come in and Havoc is now an enemy .

Havoc it think i think will end up being somewhat of a tragic character, a mutant with great powers that utlimatley doesnt fulfill what xavier wants and ends up going bad or something

I am so excited to find this forum. I want to see Havok in any x men movie or TV.
I hope they will not do that for Havok. I mean Havok is a leader character : smart/brave/attractive/power. NO point to destroy that.
There is not much about Havok yet, hope the director can give more room and on screen time for lucas to portrait him.
Can not wait to see What lucas-Havok looks like on screen.

I agree.

Also, considering how Cyclops was treated, I don't think we need to have any more members of the Summers clan have their leadership skills downplayed.

totally agree with you about that. Hope they do not destroy another members of the Summers.
I think it is a good idea for x men first class to have Havok instead of Cyclops, because Cyclops was not treated right in the last x men movies-- not as a power leader role. Lots of fans and non comic fans already get the idea of who was young adult Cyclops on screen.

Well, there was no hint of Cyclops having a brother in the other films...

But a brother 20 years older isn't inconceivable.

Better is NO HAVOK in this movie
producers suck!
Im fan of Havok character in comics but Im really disappointed by this Havok version 20 yo older than Cyclops!

Does the age thing make any signifcant difference to any of their history or storyline?!

I'm just so confused why people are making it such a big issue.

It does not make that a big deal who is older. I think movies are different from comic books. The characters and storylines are very important in comic book. But on movie, not just storylines, it also depends on the actors a lot. Cyclops from the previous x men movies ( the actors are good) are forgettable, on the other hand "Jackman" won the " people's choice". Building up on screen characters are different.

I don't see Havok looking up to a brother 20 years younger then him. Nor do I think Havok will be raised as an orphan if Cyclops is born 20 years after him.

Just the target audience....

Except we're not the target audience.

Except we're not the target audience.

Exactly. We're going to see it no matter what, even if we ***** about it for the next six years. Target audience is 18-39 year old men who've never read a comic book in their life, and 18-39 year old women who think James McAvoy is cute.

the target audience of this movie is the same as the previous xmen movies.

the millions of viewers already know who are the x-men, so this is just a origin story for them.

It looks like Havok got the chest circle from the comics. Hope it looks really cool when he uses his powers.

I'm not a big Havok fan, but it's my understanding that he now shoots things from his chest or his chestpiece "tells" him how much power he's stored/can use, whereas he used to just direct his power in general? Can anyone help me with that?

His suit with the chestpiece measures and controls his energy output because Havok had trouble controlling his abilities early in his career.

So it's like Cyclops' visor then?

Does the energy come from a hole in his chest, or does he just focus it from wherever?

It radiates from his body in a massive burst - and is often seen originating from his chest - but can be channelled through his hands for a targeted blast.

Havok is a battery. He soaks up cosmic radiation that exists naturally in our surroundings and comes from outer space.

Cyclops' energy source is solar radiation (which consists of visible light plus infa-red and ultra-violet rays).

(The sun does emit some cosmic radiation, usually in solar flares)

I hope we see a different effect than Cyclops' red beam. Some trailer descriptions indicated Havok's power was a red beam coming out of his chest. I don't like that idea. It's inaccurate and boring.

Here's a Havok montage assembled from various images online:

Just will better no add Havok in this movie that's all
I totally disagree about making Alex 20-25 years older than Scott. What a s***ckin idea
It destroys the mythic brotherhood Cyclops-Havok as younger bro as we know in comics.

this is'nt the comics

did cyclops even mention he had a brother in the previous 3 movies? NO
