there will be before this was shown. it was shown in an article from pcGN what the some of these squad mates in the video looked liked . there are more coming I'm sure .

They have also added a new briefing to the Initiative for those that are doing it.

They even included a black hole in that video, which looks really similar to the one in Interstellar.

The old leak, which was apparently accurate, claims there was 7 squad members. Then it was later reported one was cut. So far we have seen 5 squad members.

BeeBee (Asari)
Vetra (Turian)
Drack (Korgan)
Cora (Human)
Liam (Human)

We also know there is at least one more squad member, who is a new race.

New trailer was pretty good. But they really need to show core elements to the game.

Character creation
Weapon crafting (a brand new feature to ME, let's see it)
Exploration
Outpost building

They need to release a 15-20 minute gameplay video, showcasing all the new elements.

This is probably my most anticipated game right now.

Cora Harper... where have we heard that name before?

Mass Effect: Andromeda trailer teases a surprising link to the original trilogy

Who exactly is Cora Harper, and what was your dad up to before the mission to Andromeda?

While I was busy speculating about whether or not your dad dies in Mass Effect: Andromeda, the rest of the internet was chasing a story with slightly more meat on its bones: Who the hell is Cora Harper?
What can I say, I have dad issues. But on to the big story: Cora was introduced in yesterday's Andromeda Initiative briefing. What makes her so interesting is that her surname, Harper, is shared by a very important guy from the original trilogy: Jack Harper, aka The Illusive Man, the leader of Cerberus.

It seems awfully unlikely that this is a coincidence, given that Mass Effect is a work of fiction and not a true story about space explorers going to another galaxy, in which case I would understand if two unrelated people shared a common surname.

Keep in mind that while Andromeda takes place hundreds of years after Mass Effect 3, the mission to Andromeda leaves during Mass Effect 2. That means that not only do these settlers have no idea about the Reaper attack, Cora could easily be The Illusive Man's daughter, or otherwise directly related. And that might explain why she's teamed up with the player's father, Pathfinder Alec Ryder. He's big into AI research, which is something Cerberus enjoyed as well.

As Kotaku points out, we also know that Harper was hanging out with asari commandos for four years, which is a decidedly un-Cerberus thing to do. So maybe she's not related after all, or she just rejected here pops' xenophobia.

I'm starting to think we'll see more call backs to the original trilogy than I had expected.

BioWare has unofficially declared February 2 "Peebee Appreciation Day" with a detailed art/cosplay guide for the character, a new video interview with her voice actress, and a brief bio on its official site. If you were expecting Mass Effect: Andromeda's asari adventurer to be as graceful and stoic as her sisters from the original Mass Effect trilogy, you've got another thing coming. Specifically, you've got a bunch of really corny gags coming.

[FONT=&quot]"She's completely goofy, and sometimes the joke totally lands, and sometimes it really doesn't," Peebee voice actress Christine Lakin explains in the video. I may relate to that statement a little too much. Every team needs a joker, and since the real Joker is back in the Milky Way (and probably several hundred years dead by the time of Andromeda), Peebee will fit the bill.

[FONT=&quot]Even if you're not a cosplayer or artist yourself you should still give that character kit a look over. Here are some of the cool details I was able to pull out:

[FONT=&quot]That's the face of an asari who just thought of a terrible pun.

FONT][FONT=inherit][FONT=inherit][FONT=inherit][FONT=inherit][FONT=inherit][FONT=inherit][FONT=inherit][FONT=inherit][FONT=inherit][COLOR=

[FONT=&quot]

Doesn't Peebee's belly get cold? Like, in space?

[FONT=&quot]Her gun is called a Sidewinder, but it looks like a Hand Cannon to me.

[FONT=&quot]Peebee's full name is Pelessaria B’Sayle according to her bio, so I can see why she goes by Peebee. She's originally from the icy asari world of Hyetiana. It's home to one of those "Search and Rescue" blips in Mass Effect 3 and prominent xenobiological facilities but is otherwise unremarkable. I'm not surprised Peebee got out of there in a hurry.

[FONT=&quot]One common asari trait that Peebee doesn't defy is biotic power: her role in combat is that of a "gunslinger" and "biotic destabilizer". Hopefully she's useful in a fight because my squad always has at least one slot reserved for comic relief.

Gone, but not forgotten.

[FONT=&quot]Mass Effect: Andromeda director Mac Walters explains the dialogue system replacing Paragon / Renegade
Mass Effect's Paragon vs Renegade morality system was one of the series' hallmarks - but it's gone for Andromeda.

[FONT=&quot]Mass Effect's Paragon vs Renegade morality system was one of the series' hallmarks - a way of defining your character that felt entertaining rather than uninspired. But it won't be a part of BioWare's next adventure amongst the stars. Speaking with Official Xbox Magazine, Mass Effect: Andromeda creative director Mac Walters explained why:
"So, Paragon and Renegade is gone. The reason they’re gone is because they felt very Shepard – they were very tied to the Shepard character, so they didn’t really make sense if we weren’t going to have Shepard as our protagonist," Walters said.
"What we have now is based more around agreeing and disagreeing. The reason I like that is because in the trilogy it’s like, 'I’m gonna play Paragon,' and then you know which way you’re moving the stick on every conversation. You don’t have to think about it, because you’re just going to hit Paragon every time."
I don't know about you all, but personally, I can definitely relate to that. When playing through Mass Effect 1 - 3, I usually held the thumbstick up and to the right, ready to select whatever the Paragon option was. I didn't really pay attention to what I was saying, just that it was the "right" thing to say.
Walters continued:

"With agree and disagree it changes by the circumstance and it changes by the character you’re talking to, so you have to actually be more engaged in what’s going on, to know if you’re going to do that."

Walters also said that you and other characters will be able to respond in specific tones of voice. "We’ve added in four tones and we’ll talk a little more in the future, but they basically allow other types of characters to express them[selves] in one of four different ways, and sometimes one of two different ways. And I think that gets back to that more traditional role-playing sort of feeling which is less about 'Do I want to be good or bad,' and more about 'How do I want to express myself?'"
Andromeda's trailers and gameplay videos so far have focused a lot on combat and exploration. And that's fine! But for me, the draw of the ME series was always its characters and story. If these new dialogue systems help flesh those out, maybe we won't even miss choosing whether or not to push that jerk out of a window.

Mass Effect: Andromeda has over a dozen hub areas, will learn from The Witcher 3

For all the open world games cribbing from it, The Witcher III: Wild Hunt might prove to be one of the most influential games of the current...Read more

I am super skeptical about this game. And if you know anything about my posting history for me to be genuinely skeptical about something means that you know I'm not messing around.

However, if what was said in that article is true then it seems like the new guys at BioWare are learning from their eff-ups. The Witcher 3 is probably my favorite game of the last 10 or so years. Whatever can be learned from it should be learned from it.

I was one of the people that felt really burned by ME3. And I was a huge fan. I was a fan of Mass Effect before the first game came out (I read the prequel novel). This is the POV I'm coming from.

I'm cautiously optimistic. It is certainly my most anticipated near term title, with only Zelda possibly challenging that position. However, playing Zelda requires me buying a whole new console, so I'm not sure if that's going to happen in the near term.

However, I have been severely disappointed with the past few Bioware games. My first exposure to Bioware came with Dragon Age Origins, so that colors my perception and perspective. From DAO, I became interested in Mass Effect and ME 2.

so, as a fan of both franchises ( with preference towards the fantasy DA ), I had high expectations for both DAII and ME 3. DAII, I think, was the 1st game I really followed from announcement to launch. I even got to ask a dev some questions via the Bioware forum. So, I felt that was pretty cool. I felt more invested in the game.

But DAII ultimately proved to be a disappointment.

Then ME 3 with the botched endings.

Then DAI.

So the last 3 Bioware games have been letdowns and disappointments, further moving away from what I enjoyed about DAO and ME and ME 2. It felt like there was less freedom to create the character I wanted. And it felt like your choices ultimately mattered less and less in the grand scheme of the game ( despite what the devs say during development ).

Hopefully, MEA doesn't continue that downward trend of disappointment, letdowns, and overall feelings of restriction. I like what I've been hearing so far. I like the fresh chapter in the story and characters. I especially like the more "open" skill/ability system that's not restricted by the traditional classes. And I'm liking what I'm hearing about doing away with the strict Paragon/Renegade morality system.

so, fingers crossed.

I am enjoying playing DA:I far more than I ever did playing DA2, so I thought it was an improvement in that sense (but some of the gameplay design decisions like non-regenerative health hamper my enjoyment of the game), and the customization is still far more restrictive than I would like.

I am intrigued by the more open, more customizable class system for ME:A. I can't wait to see how it works when I play the game.

I thought Inquisition was a great game but it suffered some for being too bloated. I hope they pare it back for this game.

As interested and hopefully as I am for this game, I have to admit that the lack of really in depth gameplay is somewhat troubling.

Besides Andromeda, the other game on my watchlist is Ghost Recon Wildlands, that game looks awesome, and there is tons of footage to see. Yet with Mass Effrct, we only have two actual gameplay videos. The game is just over a month away, time to start showing the bulk of it.

That may have some thing to do with Ghost Recon being closer to it's release date and most of the reviewers have their review copies and doing lets plays and previews show and doing their own news outlets podcast after doing that. And ME:A isn't near it's due date. Guess there wasn't heavy embargo for that game ether.

Bloated wasn't the problem. Emptiness was. It had 135 hours of open world with approx 10 hours of campaign and well written and voiced side objectives. It was a single player MMO. And it was incredibly lifeless and boring because of it.
