Days of Future Past The Official Nicholas Hoult/Beast Thread

I'm hoping for an alternate timeline where he never became Beast, where Wolverine was recruited in the 60s/70s. Because would an image inducer make his clothes tighter on his body??

I think its more likely that he managed to find a temporary cure...

it wouldn't really make since for the timeline to have been alternated in the 60's

Depends how an image inducer works. If he has other protruding features like facial hair etc that could protrude from the created human image also. Maybe the image inducer makes you invisible and then projects an image that tries to reflect your actions, which would explain the tighter clothes.

I just hope they are not showing Beast in human form just to save money!

Its pretty lame to think that Beast will be in human form for most of his screentime in this movie when we thought we are gonna see him in blue/furry form all the time after his second mutation in First Class.

I don't think it's so much about saving money, but, about giving more face time to Hoult, who has become more well-known and popular since the last movie

More well-known, sure. But he didn't become really popular. Warm Bodies did okay but not spectacular and Jack the Giant Slayer bombed.

I don't really like this idea of just because someone got more exposure in the media, they will find a way for Beast to appear in human form for half of the film. We don't know yet if thats really the case but I think it would be really lame if we see Nicholas Hoult/Beast in human form for the majority of the film just because he got more popular. Thats the same thing with Jennifer Lawrence.

He's definitely not popular with me. At least not as the role of beast. That was terrible casting, the only bad casting I can think of for the film. Beast was way too lanky and skinny it looked ridiculous. Just bring back Kelsey Grammer.

They will probably do the same with Jennifer Lawrence, she will probably look like herself a fair bit in the film with every so often appearing in blue form, singer probably will find an excuse to do it

And Singer could make it work also, that's the thing

I would be fine if its just for marketing purposes, but for the actual movie and when we are now watching the movie inside of the theater. I prefer them to be in their mutant/blue form for the majority of the film.

I want more blue, more ice & more metal! :BA thx

Yup! Plus it will make the film more visually-appealing!

Imagine if we got a frame shot of Beast, Iceman (in ice form), Mystique, Colossus (in metal form) and Pixie.

Well, a temporary cure doesn't have to mean it works very well. I'm sure we'll see some blue beast again.

I actually think an image inducer would be a fun inclusion. I just worry the film-makers might think it's a little too high tech. Singer seemed to prefer grounding his x-men films. (Then again, we did get holodeck level danger room in TLS, so maybe an image inducer isn't so out there).

I always liked it when Nightcrawler had one. He'd always look like Errol Flynn. :hehe:

This is the same Beast that built the first version of Cerebro and Havoc's energy harness in FC. Not to mention the X-Jet.

Given that this is a few years forward and Hank is even smarter than he was in the 60's, I'd say that it's possible he constructed an image inducer. That's what I'm going with. I also think that he'll be in his Beast form for the majority of the movie.

I thought Beast transformation is irreversible?

The difference between Beast and Mystique is that ...

Mystique can choose to hide her Blue appearance but she choose to embrace it.

While Beast is stuck in his blue furry appearance.

Haha, he did.

On Beast though, he looks too good for any temporary cure. I don't mind if he's in human form for quite a few scenes but I don't want that to get the bigger share of screen time. I'd be interested to see how the image inducer works also.

Yeah makes the team look exotic and interesting even when nothing important is happening.

Just imagine the future scenes with:

Iceman, Storm, Colossus, Bishop and Blink all together. It could look pretty cool and kind of iconic.

so diverse and unique. Lets hope Bishop and Blink looks are Spot on.

I really suspect singer will go with him in human form for most the film, mostly because singer can do it and get away with it being part of Hanks subplot, it will please hoult to not have to wear make up all the time like he didn't have too in FC and it also be something for the hoult fans

plus its continuing the messages left by FC

(FC) Erik Lehnsherr:
If you're using half your concentration to look normal, then you're only half paying attention to whatever else you're doing.

Just pointing out something that could save your life.

(FC) Xavier:
In each of us, two natures are at war.

It was about man's animal nature and his struggle to control it, to conform. And it's that struggle which is holding you back.

If you wanna beat me this time, you have to set the beast free.

and this is a part sequel and even if its set 10 years later its still realistic to think of hank hiding his appearance for years, he wants to be normal

Yeah, anything like that would be amazing.

There's nothing wrong with all the things you say. I can agree and see why they make sense.

But this isn't just about being a good film. Imagine if Singer came up with a Best Film Oscar winning X-Men film, a profoundly deep mutant-human relations commentary where all mutants choose to use image inducers (even if only to mask their human identity rather than special features) and not to use their powers for anything combat related as they campaign for peace, fully and satisfactorily developing all their individual sub plots along the way. It could be the best reviewed film ever but it would lack some of that awesome & magic you get from comics. I mean Schindler's List is probably better than X2 & FC but I'm not going to be watching it 200 times. :yay:

I wonder if they'll give Bishop the M scar.

Bishop has to have the scar. Its his character mark. Hope to see a scar, a red scarf and a big gun.

Blink have to have pink skin and darker pink hair with green eyes and the face scars. With natural palete of colours. I dont mind she wears trousers or normal ears but the rest must remain.

I hope not. That would completely invalidate her entire character arc from the previous film.

But then again, she is really prurrty so maybe I'd be ok with it.
