Days of Future Past The Official Nicholas Hoult/Beast Thread

either way hank will have a gun, im pretty sure they aint filming here

but i do think think there will be some more added depth to the hank and raven relationship, he may be the one tryin to stop her possibly

i'm willing to bet hank is still insecure about his beastly look and wants to hide it

It's pretty fantastic...

Cool. Wonder how much time he spends as a human in this film.

if they keep to the insecure theme for hank in FC then probably through most of it, i suspect they will

maybe about the same as mystique spend looking normal in FC

Maybe with little beastly hints in human form

And Fully beast out near the end

I hope just for a few scenes.

I would be disappointed if in the majority of the film, he appears in human form.

you may be disappointed then

i think i can see where singer is going with the hank thing, it gives hank his own sub plot, it continues on from FC and it saves on blue make up :cwink:

beast will be seen in parts and alot at the end i think :yay:

Yeah, he looks too good as Beast for us to not get him like that for a big chunk of the film. :csad: (not that he wont be great in human form)

If Charles and Hank are in public, it makes sense that Hank appears human. Not only is his mutation something Hank isn't proud of, but Charles stands by the idea that anonymity is a mutant's first line of defense. In First Class, he takes Raven home just for changing her eye color in public, so it's doubtful he's going to want Hank openly walking around in his Beast form in Days of Future past.

He still looks normal even in the picture singer put on twitter of hank and wolverine at the mansion, now thats not out in public

I really honestly think the subplot for him is he is insecure and unable to accept his appearance like in FC, it would make sense for many reasons

1. Saves having to put him in make up alot and lets hoults be normal for a while

2. Continues hanks insecurity side from FC

3. Gives hank his own subplot to get passed

I do hope people won't get moany about it though, he will be seen as beast a fair bit but not as much as we will see him human, I can see it being like raven in FC and just how much she appeared in blue form which was in a few places and alot in the end

Do we know if they're filming when this pic was taken? Considering the guy Hoult is aiming his gun at is next to a GMC truck that doesn't look like it belongs in the 70's. Plus it looks like they're right next to their trailers LOL

You guys are confusing me. I was under the impression that Beast's mutation was permanent, that he couldn't go back to Human form. That's how it's been portrayed in every other source as far as I know?

There will probally be a good deal of beast using Image indurcer to go In public. The pic of
him and wolverine was probally him turning It on before they leave the mansion. This also
performs a cleanup of error of human beast In X2.Bryan Singer had mentioned he would be
cleaning up some things.

Probably best not to bank your hopes up that its just for public, it's gonna be part of beasts subplot I think, it's a continuation of his insecurity from FC and means hoults can look normal through most the film

It works for story and we will still see him as beast, its a win situation for singer

Oh i see, thanks, that makes sense.

By "cleaning up some things" he means continuity errors? Because to be honest that's one of the most annoying things about the X-Men films (especially Origins:Wolverine)

I really hate the image inducer crap. Imagine in Alan Cumming was non-blue for most of X2? I wanted to see Hank HIDING in the shadows from humans. They can continue his insecurities that way! Have him in a trenchcoat and hat...the image inducer makes no sense anyway. He's clearly gotten bigger after becoming blue and beastly, his body wouldn't be small and fit to his clothes like that. It just comes off as a cheap gimmick to save make-up and to show Hoult's pretty face.
I'd rather human Hank be in an alternate reality where he never took the serum.

yep thats probably partly the idea and if singer can work that into beasts minor subplot which pretty much was the minor subplot he had for FC which was wanting to be normal, then its a win win for singer, adds emotion ect ect, even if some fans probably would rather see him as beast through out

they will obviously do the hank learning curve, with scenes like him looking in the mirror as beast and struggles emotionally with what he is seeing and hiding from and by the end he stops hiding and goes full beast

I know this is a pretty radical notion, but can it be possible that the revolutionary CG character that Bryan Singer was talking about was Beast the whole time? Like they will superimpose the makeup in post? (I realize there's no markers on his face or anything, but hey weirder things right?)

Seems doubtful. Hoult is wearing tight 70s clothing that would not fit his stocky Beast alter-ego. It has to be an image inducer, or an alternate past where he didn't yet transform into Beast.

It Is going to image Inducer.Bryan already talked about film having technolgy not seen In X-Men film.

People really want this film to be more complicated than It needs to be.You already have 2 timeframes 1:Dark future and 2:1973 and a likely third frame 3:Altered future at end of film.

Yeah, you're right, the clothes are way too tight, and the image inducer is the most likely explanation.
