They do have a next-gen racer(DriveClub)and will have zombie game(Daylight and Blacklight:Retribution)

Ahh, so you named multiplayer offerings that will be on both systems, of which both of those titles are faaaaaar inferior to the exclusive counterparts on the Xbox One.

Soooooo...what you're saying is there is *NO Reason* to buy a PS4 at launch or in 2013 at all! Haha

Right, got ya!

Neither have a siginificantly greater number of launch games. In truth, the launch exclusives for both systems are weak.

Maybe it's a good thing. I'd rather have a good line-up of games throughout the year, than have them blow their wad day 1. Jim Sterling makes some great points about this particular topic.

Launch Splooge

As we head toward the launch of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, we're going to soon be hearing about their launch libraries, and how awesome they are. Ignore these boasts.

Let Jimquisition bring light into your life, explaining how the demand for a strong launch lineup is misplaced, and how consoles may screw themselves by spurting out a big wad at once.

It's been a while since the term 'fanboy' was used here. Thanks for putting the counter back to 0 :(

What I'm saying is PS4 will have these type of games too when you said they won't,Being better games or not than others is simply opinions

IF there's no reason for you to get a PS4 at launch then don't,No need to be coming off as a *****e and a certain console fanboy

PS4 is also gathering cool indie games like The Witness and Transistor which are each debut exclusive.

But anyway, let's move on.

Will the tablet/phone app be available at launch and will that be the one used for BF 4's commander mode or or will Dice have their own app just for that??

I'm really confused coming out of Sony's E3 pressor this year.
It was just a rehash of the games they showed at their initial announcement back in Feb. or March or whenever, and some multi-platform offerings.

Basically, what do they have besides Killzone 4 and Infamous?
Of which both I have no interest in, mind you.
You need to wait. E3 was more showcasing the system, highlighting their indie offerings and clarifying unanswered questions. They have said that every first party studio is working on PS4 games but only a few have actually been announced. They will unveil more next month at Gamescom, which is the largest gaming conference in the industry. That will be purely games and new reveals.

Again, tripping!

I'm sure all the jealous Sony fanboys would like to say so, buuuuuuut I have friends who have played the game, it's combat controls are pretty much the same as the Batman Arkham games, so yes, Roman Gladiator game is very much kick ass: CONFIRMED. ;)

if you start following up your posts with "deal with it" everything will make much more sense.

While the first party exclusives aren't anything to call mom about, having a console launch with Battlefield, COD, Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed, FIFA, Madden, etc.. it's pretty great. Probably one of the best launch lineups ever, even if most of it is cross-gen.

Yeah, Gamescom is at the end of August.

oh I agree.. I have zero problems with the launch line up. I'd say it's the best since N64 was packed in with Super Mario 64.

Trolls. Second Son is my most anticipated announced Sony game. Quite possibly my favorite IP they own only second to Uncharted

yeah.. I know people who aren't Sony fans.. but love Infamous.

I personally thought the Vita had a pretty awesome launch lineup and that's fairly recent

If you want to talk about home consoles, the Dreamcast was king. Sonic Adventure, Soul Calibur, Blue Stinger, Power Stone, Tokyo Xtreme Racer, Ready 2 Rumble Boxing...the system had a lot of good games available day 1

For some reason I forgot about the DC. I had SA, SC, Power Stone and Ready 2 Rumble. I think I had a fishing game for it at launch too.. can't remember.

I think both Xboxes had good lineups.

The original Xbox had Halo, Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2X (it had all the levels from Tony Hawk 1 and 2 in addition to 4 new levels), Project Gotham Racing, etc.

The Xbox 360 wasn't as impressive, and all of the good ones were sequels, but it had the awesome Call of Duty 2, PGR 3, Amped 3, NBA 2k6, etc.

But yeah, Dreamcast had the best launch. Too bad it wasn't meant to be. :csad:

I'm not a big racer fan.. Unless it's something close to Burnout.. Which is why I will own that racer by Ubisoft when it releases.

I liked Need for Speed Hot Pursuit, which was made by the same guys as Burnout. However, I refuse to pay full price for racing game that doesn't have split screen multiplayer.

I'm not into racing games But I might play&download Driveclub IF it's a F2P game as I THINK it is because it looks interesting and a new concept for a racer game

I have always had this addiction with racing games since first playing CTR and Gran Turismo. But Burnout is something I wish would make a comeback, Burnout 3 is my favorite racing game of all time. Racing games have become somewhat of a drag nowadays. Although I loved Mod Nation Racers.

I loved most of the Original Xbox's launch lineup, and many of the exclusives(counting games that were only also on PC as my crappy computer made the Xbox a awesome tool to have) that would follow. I don't care what is said about it I'd put it by the PS1 and SNES as my favorite game console of all time because of how much I enjoyed and still enjoy the games today.

It's not F2P. If you sign up for PS+ you will be able to download DriveClub PS+ Edition at launch, which is a gimped version of the full game, less cars, tracks, etc... You can pay to upgrade to the full version.

I still play some of my Xbox games. I originally bought the Xbox for launch over the PS2 because I loved the technology. The fact that you could rip CDs to the console, save games without a memory card, and that they were teasing online play sold the system for me. I will agree PS2 had the better games overall, the Xbox was a great start for Microsoft as a system and was a sign of greater things to come with the Xbox 360 (well, 2005-2009 Xbox 360).

I think if I had to rank the systems I own in terms of how much fun I had it would be:

1. PS1
2. Xbox
3. Xbox 360 (especially the first few years)
4. N64
5. Super Nintendo

Systems I never owned (at least during their run): PS2, Gamecube, PS3, Dreamcast.

Oh,Well still pretty good,I'm already a PS+ member and am transferring over my account so I might still try this version

And that, I will never get, of what you say about people you know.

I own a PS3, its okay, I will eventually get a PS4, when either a game presents itself that I cannot live without, or its had several price drops. I didn't get my PS3 until they made the Slim and had another price drop.

Anyway, point is, Ive enjoyed some of their games, but Infamous has always had as much appeal to me as say Crackdown. Just pure generic and forgettable.

But I guess some people are amused by anything. I consider it rubbish.

Awesome, list post, I like lists.

I'll rank mine. This gen definitely being my fave

1. Xbox 360
2. PS3
3. Xbox
4. PS2
5. Sega Dreamcast

I guess I just have stronger attachments to the experiences as each generation progresses, since games grow better and better each time opening up new things never possible before.

Not saying some older games haven't been better than some games this gen, just talking about the best of the best from each though.
