Thunder, what games are you getting for the PS4?

GTA V, Last of Us, Wolfenstein, Evil Within, Shadow of Mordor, Diablo III, and Tomb Raider.

Seems like a decent starting line up.

I will probably get Far Cry 4 next.

Mine should be here Wednesday.

I would definitely hold off, since they go on sale quite often (anywhere from 40 to 70). But I am notoriously cheap, so, it's your call.
I might just get it from walmart and if it goes on sale the next 30 days, get the difference refunded to me. I was waiting this black friday for a good sale on it and didn't find any asides from target, which isn't in my city.

that's a good lineup.

I picked up Shadow of Mordor and Tomb Raider on the cheap over BF weekend.

Diablo III is fun.

did you get the GTA V/LOS PS4 bundle??

Yep. The other bundle didn't do much for me. And I really want to try the new GTA.

ah, good. the GTA series just never appealed to me.......lol. haven't played any of those games.

btw......has the Rest Mode issue that came with update 2.0 been fixed?

is it safe to use Rest Mode now?

nah. just the whole concept of GTA never appealed to me.

I mean....you basically play as a gangster in each game, right??

More or less. They don't play it quite as straight as you might think.

San Andreas' protagonist was from a rough neighborhood, but he tried to escape. Kept getting pulled back in.

In IV you played a guy trying to make an honest living, but he kept getting pulled into ****.

In V you have a retired bank robber, and... Trevor, an insane meth dealer. There's also a really boring guy named Franklin... who exists.

Vice City had you play a straight up gangster though. And it was awesome.

ah, I see. again, just not my cup of tea, concept wise.

Well, it's the gameplay and environment that really sells it. You can just do so much.

Cars, bikes, planes, helicopters. Just the jets. The sheer scope of it is incredible.

You really should give it a try. I have spent hundreds of hours just doing random ****, like flying around in a tank in Vice City (crazy as it sounds).

sorry. I think I'll still pass......lol.

if I want an open world game, I'd rather have a game like the Arkham Batman games. or Infamous. or an open world RPG like Skyrim.

I know where you're coming from X, but the gta games have some great campaigns. I like a game where I'm invested in the story. That's why for me ultimately gta4>gta5, even though gta5 beats it in almost every other category for an open world game's standards.

I skipped out on gta5 for Ps3 though so I plan to get it for Ps4 at some point.

The campaigns in GTA could never pull me in. If I can't care for the protagonist, I don't care how big the world is, or how much you can do. I played GTAV for maybe an hour, before I turned it off and never went back to it again. Now characters like Sleeping Dog's Wei Shen, or Red Red Redemption's John Marston, those characters I cared for, and because of them I managed to get absorbed in their stories.

Without characters to get attached to, free roam games even as giant as GTAV, are just a bore to me.

^^ I feel the same way, Nathan. if I don't care about or can't get into the main character, I'll have a hard time getting into the game.

that happened with Watch Dogs. I just couldn't get into the character or the game.

as far as I'm concerned, the safe mode is... safe.

forget gta5. did you play gta4?

I'm debating whether to get the gold headset. I currently just use some stock ear buds with my ps4 and even that is a big upgrade over my tv speakers. Are the Golds worth the 100 dollar price tag?

I feel they are totally worth it, not quite loud enough for me but for non-DJs I'm sure they are fine haha. Super comfy and the virtual 7.1 surround sound is really amazing. The battery life is really good as well, if you can afford it you should pick them up

Yup, rest mode is good to go

Add me on PSN bro, it's in my sig. I have GTA V so we can start up a crew

I just picked up Murdered Soul Suspect for 12 bucks. Haven't heard much about it, but 12 dollars for a game, so I figured, why not?

My PS4 should be here today... at some point. C'mon, UPS.

Game Informer gave it a horrible review. But at $12 who cares haha
