Punisher MAX # 10 finally here and great read that it is am wondering ?
Bullseye finally worked out BORN ?
hey folks - anyone read the Bendis interview regarding the Moon night relaunch?
http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=30774
the sentence thats most interesting is the following...
'Moon Knight is one of three books that are not the same thing, but have a similitarity in tone, style and approach," Brevoort said of other books coming up by A-list talent. "We're bannering them all under the banner 'Big Shots." After "Moon Knight," the other books will launch in June and July. "These are characters are not that obscure," Brevoort said. "Didn't I just ruin this by saying Matt [Fraction] is doing Rocket Raccoon and Ed [Brubaker]'s doing Rom Space Knight?" Bendis joked.'
would the other books be Daredevil and the Punisher? The 'similitarity in tone, style and approach' could be the same with each. So if Bendis is doing MK, and Brubaker finishing Secret Avengers soon, freeing him up and with him having written Daredevil before does this mean he will be coming to the Punisher? Reading between the lines it looks like a good possibility...
The whole "ruthless, emotionless killing machine" thing is getting old.
The Punisher and Daredevil getting relaunched makes me angry.
Cool - http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=30889
the Punisher is getting a relaunchmy crystal ball says Brubaker...
And we wont like you when you're angry???...
Why's that make you angry? And personally I'd like to see old school stories like a mix of Mike Baron with Abenett and Lanning.
Because I hate pointless relaunches. I absolutely hate them. I hate it that they have kicked Daredevil off his own book and are relaunching the character instead of rightfully putting him back on his own book. Seriously, what was the point of renumbering Daredevil back to issue #500 when they just replaced the title character and giving him a new #1 issue after 12 issues of the renumbering.
As for the Punisher, I really think that Marvel should have just renamed Franken-Castle, the Punisher with the In The Blood storyline, and go on from there, waiting to renumber the book back to it's proper numbering. I'd rather read the Punisher #300 as opposed to the Punisher #1.

Frank begins to open up and somewhat treat Henry like a son... having someone who could be his son's age could have an affect on him and positively evolve Frank... but the most important thing is writers need to start giving Frank an emotional journey.........

Dude the thing is how long can you read about a ruthless, emotionless, wooden killing machine before it gets old? If the reader has nothing to latch onto then they're not going to be invested in the character. There is no complexity to the character. This is why the Punisher's books don't sell, writers insist on portraying him as this walking death machine that lives only to kill and nothing else.
Again, i'm not saying make him soft, but give the guy some sense of purpose for god's sake.
