:p

But seriously, that scene was pretty ****ing amazing.

:funny:

I just loved that scene because the stakes were higher for Will. She knew she could die going up against Glory but she went up against her anyway. Loved that scenes music and the emotion of the episode overall.
I loved The Dark Willow Saga too BMW :p

I hope Joss adds more gritty emotional moments like in Buffy and Angel in AOU.

Since Dr. Strange is confirmed to be Phase 3, I don't see why they won't just make Wanda a real witch since sorcery will be introduced with Dr. Strange's origin, instead of making her powers more defined and limited.

But the already set up "registered gifted" which is obviously an allusion to mutants why make her magical all of a sudden?

I'm just saying that Marvel is already set up to introduce/explain magic and sorcery with Dr. Strange soon, so if they want to have SW's powers be magic-based it's not difficult to do.

^They will most likely leave it ambiguous like they did with Thor.

Or we can just have her do magic. You know, like a witch. It's much more interesting and cooler, quite frankly. And that's the example that YOU used, and if that's the best that you can come up with, then your argument is less than stellar.

I'm not the one being paid to make this movie now am I? What I come up with for her powers is null and void. Just because you are not familiar with her and can't think outside the box doesn't mean that the people actually making the film won't come up with better things.

And since others have already brought up Strange, if her powers are "just magic" then what's to stop people from thinking that he's just like the twins or vice versa. Its a slippery slope to just write her powers off like so many seem to want to do.

so I managed to find the CA mid credit scene online..............:wow:

I think magic will be explained in the MCU as some type of science-based psionic abiity. Dr. Strange, Scarlet Witch, Baron Mordo, Dormannu, Loki, and the Enchantress will all be magicians, and there powers will all have the same explanation. I think Wanda will become Dr. Strange's apprentice.

because it doesn't account for her brother. is it your contention that he is also a sorceror?

Be careful, you might piss people off. It's not sorcery in these films, it's science. :oldrazz::woot:

If she's a witch she could have given her brother superpowers. Easy enough to explain.

Do you think the avengers will try and weigh her to see if she weighs the same as a duck?

Or maybe Quicksilver's powers could be magic as well...

*shakes head* I really wish people looked up what the word 'science' means before getting into these kind of arguments. . .

I've always felt that "magic" in fictitious works at least, should be something that can't be explained or figured out through science. Or it at least should be that way.

In real life, if it were possible to open portals like Dr. Strange I'm sure there would be a scientific explanation behind it. For comics and other works of fiction, I like it to be unexplainable though.

Well there being a scientific explanation and knowing+understanding are two different things. We still understand little about her our universe works. But I think there just need to be consistent rules. Like if you can say some words to light a building on fire then it should be a pretty damn big deal and you should be one of the top guys.

just got back from Cap 2.

the mid credit scene.............:woot:

The part about the experimentation causing their powers is not fact and is just Dent passing off speculation as fact. Although it may be true, we'll have to see.

I know this is part of an old argument with Mr. Dent but I felt the need to respond.

Not sure if you've seen the mid credit sequence yet but
it really looks like Quicksilver is having trouble dealing with his "powers" in that room. Like he's still learning to use them. At a guess, I'm going to agree with Dent that they were experimented on. Not to mention, I find it a bit hard to believe Baron and some HYDRA agents were able to catch someone as fast as Pietro.

No it's not. I've seen Cap 2, as I've been stating for the past week. People simply don't want to accept what they wanted to happen isn't. It's a fact. But believe whatever you want until you see the movie yourself, no skin off my bones.

I find it weird there is even still a discussion about where their powers come from. Von Strucker explicitly said they used Loki's scepter to experiment on people and the twins were the only ones that survived. Did people not listen to what was being said in that scene?

If the twins have their powers solely because of advanced science, why would Strucker call them "miracles"? A miracle is an unexplained, extremely rare event. Scientists don't call their work "miracles."

I think the twins had some kind of latent power that the scepter enhanced. The other volunteers died because they had no latent powers. It makes no sense for a scepter to give one person super speed and the other person psychic abilities. This isn't consistent with either the semi-realistic world of the MCU or the powers we've seen the scepter demonstrate.
