Thats what Im thinking. Maybe the scepter brought forth their powers that were either really miniscule or just not present before hand.

If the twins have their powers solely because of advanced science, why would Strucker call them "miracles"? A miracle is an unexplained, extremely rare event. Scientists don't call their work "miracles."

I think the twins had some kind of latent power that the scepter enhanced. The other volunteers died because they had no latent powers. It makes no sense for a scepter to give one person super speed and the other person psychic abilities. This isn't consistent with either the semi-realistic world of the MCU or the powers we've seen the scepter demonstrate.

dem mutant genes............:o

I suppose it's possible that Hydra were experimenting with all kinds of different powers on 'Volunteers', however Wanda and Pietro had a genetic mutation or something (brain slot in Iron Man 3 anyone?) that the other volunteers didn't have, which is why Strucker calls them miracles - they were the first to survive because they had a dormant gene that has now been activated

Or they don't have any dormant genes or anything like that and they are simply called miracles just because they were the only two to survive being altered by the staff.

It doesn't have to be overly complicated people. lol

Dirty, stinkin' "miracles" with their evolved "brain slots"!!

I'd say Wanda's power is that her body is a nexus/portal that serves as a connection to the Infinity Stone of Reality. That's what her witch power really is: manipuliating the reality gem.

If I'm right, we have the Space Gem (Tesseract) in Captain America 1 and Avengers, the Power Gem (Aether) in Thor 2, another Infinity Gem in Guardians of the Galaxy and the Reality Gem in Avengers 2. That makes four.

Number 5 could appear in a Doctor Strange movie (Eye of Agamotto = Soul Gem), and the final one will appear in Avengers 3 (or maybe in a solo movie right before Avengers 3).

Eh, I think people are far too eager to tie *everything* into an Infinity Stone. Its really forced.

It's more likely to be Loki's scepter itself that's the stone, and not a person. It makes more sense that way, to say it altered whatever to give her and her brother their powers, because then you'd have to try and explain why she's a "stone" and he's not when they got their powers the same way.

Would Thanos give an Infinity Stone away to Loki the god of mischief to help him get another one? Doesnt seem like he'd want to do that.

The scepter is the same color as the Tesseract, if it was another stone it would be green, orange or yellow etc.

Didn't they actually come out and say that the scepter was powered by part of the Tesseract's energy in The Avengers? I'm pretty sure that they did.

I think so. I guess it also doesnt matter where the Tesseract is (Earth or Asgard etc). Baron Strucker has the scepter and its doing things without the cube around.

Its sort of confusing, because its not a stone yet its powered by one? So how did Thanos get it? idk.

I guess what's important to take away from that is that Thanos still has the Gem. 'course, it opens a score of questions such as will other vessels that interacted with the Infinity Stones - such as Jane-have any residual effects? Or, more importantly, how long can the scepter go before displaying this:

Thanos doesnt have anything as far as we know. He gave The Other a Chitauri scepter to give to Loki, which seemed to be connected to the Tesseract, and helped close the portal it opened. It also had an ability to be a weapon, a mind controller, visual illusion maker, a communication device.

AND

Baron Strucker used it to create super powers by mixing it with Earth based mutant genes.

Right now the 6 Infinity Stones are scattered around the MCU. 1) Tesseract (Asgard) 2) Aether (Collector) 3) ? 4) ? 5) ? 6) ?

I am pretty confused regarding the 6 infinty stones.

In the mcu, the tesseract has been comfirmed as one of them?

Pretty sure it has , as well as the aether

But I don't think they have said which is which gem

Tesseract is The Space Stone, Aether is the Power Stone

The three confirmed Infinity Stones in the MCU thus far are:

1. The Tesseract.
2. The Aether.
3. That Orb thing that Star Lord steals in GOTG (I don't know if that one's 100% confirmed, but it has been heavily implied).

Feige confirmed Guardians will feature a third Infinity Stone.

I think someone said the Orb might be a map to the 3rd Infinity Stone
