Age of Ultron The Official Scarlet Witch Thread - Part 2

I hope wanda has an accent too! It's sounds odd but you'll be suprised how many characters in movies come from the same region but one has an accent and the other doesn't. It annoys the hell out of me!

Like how madame giry and madame carlotta had a french accent in phantom of the opera but literally no-one else did!

Yeah, it's super odd that she said nothing. Unless it's a messed up accent :funny:

I wonder how the twins get their names. Vision too. It'd be cool if Thor named Wanda. "The scarlet witch used her spells on my mind and I witnessed the doom of Asgard." Maybe Tony names Quicksilver as one his "Point Break" and "Reindeer Games" type quips. "Hey, slow down there 'Quicksilver' the rest of us don't have .01 '40' times." And Vision's name could come from the idea that Ultron sees him as a vision of an improved version of man. "I will name you the Vision, for surely you are a vision of what man should, but cannot be."

Oh almost certainly Quicksilver comes from Stark. That's such a Stark name for someone who is fast

I'd honestly prefer if they didn't have Stark be the one to name them. Seems a little tacky, imo.

Iron Man just has to be the one to introduce their codenames?

It just makes sense. Cap isn't exactly the king of the one-liners, whereas Stark has already been shown to give them cute names based on pop culture (Reindeer Games, Point Break etc)

It's Tony Stark's universe, everyone just lives in it.

You know who should name them?
Cisco Ramone :D

Cap's the boss, Tony just funds everything, designs everything, makes everyone look good and gives them cool names :)

If Tony gave me free room and board in that tower in NYC I'd call him lord and master of the universe, no problem. :cwink:

Tony is awful good with the nicknames and I can see Tony calling Wanda The Scarlet Witch very easily and not so nicely. But maybe Clint names Pietro Quicksilver since he's supposed to have his personality back in this after all.

How about Von Strucker labels them that.

But in all honestly I expect them to be used once as throw away names, or wouldn't be shocked if they are never called that.

I imagine it'll be used like Hawkeye's codename in Avengers

"Where's Barton?"
"Oh the Hawk? Up in his nest"

Thor naming Wanda Scarlet Witch makes the most sense. He can be like 'Who is this Scarlet Witch, I didn't know there were any witches on Midgard'

And Pietro should call himself Quicksilver.

That makes sense yeah.

It's Strucker who names the twins, I bet.

I'm curious as to what they come up with for a more official uniform for the Witch in her next appearance.

I don't know why, but I'm imagining a cross between Gamora's outfit and Jean Grey's costume from X3.

Knowing Marvel, they'll give her a suit similar to Black Widow's or Gamora's suit, but just reddish. Whatever it is, I hope it's a great look!

Am I the only one a tad worried about this description of Wanda's powers?

New characters entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe from the comic book world are Wanda (Scarlet Witch) and Pietro Maximoff (Quicksilver), who have powers that have not yet been seen on screen. Pietro is lightning fast and Wanda possesses the power of telekinesis, and she is able to fire neurons in people’s brains remotely using her powers and as a result can manipulate their minds.

^Hmm... maybe they wanted to stick it to Fox by making SW into Jean Grey 2.0 after what happened with QS? :hmm

Blech! I hate when they (over)explain powers with pseudo science. Just call it "magic" for pity's sake!

It's just like when they tried to science-up her powers in the comics. The character was perfectly fine with "hexes" and magic, but then they decided to turn it all into "probability manipulation", and things got waaay more complicated.
