To be fair, Wanda isn't the only character who ever inexplicably got powers far greater than any they had ever displayed before. Speaking of Jean Grey, the whole Dark Phoenix saga came out of left field and made the character basically a goddess, much like House of M Wanda, whereas before she was just a mid-level telepath/telekinetic. Same with characters like Franklin Richards, Iceman, Gambit, Emma Frost and other "lower-level" characters who suddenly acquire godlike "omega level mutant" designations. And "what if" and alt-dimension stories are rife with that sort of thing --- the Avengers Forever saga featured frickin' Rick Jones becoming the key figure in an eternal war that spanned multiple timelines.

Out of left field? Claremont spent YEARS building up to that story. She was a mid level TP/TK in the 60s, but her powers had grown quite a bit since then. The seeds had been planted by the time she went crazy in DPS and that showed us what could happen when someone with that amount of power lost control.

I've noticed a few things when watching other Elizabeth Olsen movies.

1. She's a great actress.
2. She does facial expressions/body language really well. Her facial expressions in TWS stinger were eerie was Hell and her intense face in the above image is awesome.
3. She's very beautiful.

I gotta admit, I wasn't so sure of Olson as Scarlett Witch when she was cast in the role. That all changed when I saw her in the end credits at the end of TWS and now in the trailer for AOU. I can't believe I just said this exact same thing about Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow. While Johansson has grown on me as an actress, I expect the same thing for Olson. Both are pretty beautiful.

Is there a character you identified with in particular and hope to see on the big screen?

CL: I was a huge fan of the Scarlet Witch as a boy. The thing that was amazing to me was that she had this really cool love story with Vision and their love was considered an abomination and even her own brother rejected her for it — that’s the kind of love story I think really resonates. That’s a character I’m really excited to see in Age Of Ultron next year because I’ve had a special connection to her. And it’s so wonderful to me that we finally get to meet her teenage son [in comics], who is gay and a superhero and has a teenage superhero boyfriend!

Now, there’s been a bit of backlash in terms of her character. Marvel doesn’t have the movie rights to X-Men, which means in Age of Ultron Scarlet Witch isn’t Magneto’s daughter, subsequently stripping her of her Roma and Jewish origin. That fact in combination with Elizabeth Olsen’s casting have led to many critiques of whitewashing being leveled at Marvel.

CL: You know, that’s always a creative challenge because, truly, the core fans are so passionate about the characters that every time we tell a new story or have to update the story that we tell for a new audience today, things get adjusted, and they are furious a lot of the time. But what we work hard at, and I think this is true of the Scarlet Witch as well, is staying true to the core attributes of that character; you know, the core relationship with her brother and the fact they are very different and they’re outsiders and they’re socially surrounded by villains, all of those elements are there. And we’re gonna see her character grow over multiple films. I really can’t say more than that, but I think people will love how Scarlet Witch plays out across the films.​

Even without them being able to use the Magneto connection, I'd love for Elizabeth Olsen to get her own movie as Scarlet Witch. Or to have her AND Quicksilver in their own film.

As producers vamped about their excitement, we see more cars flipping, intercut with a shot of Scarlet Witch casting a spell and then a small explosion going off. As Whedon explains that he loves working with the characters of the Marvel Universe, he notes that there are aspects of it that fans have never seen before -- like Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver.

"Her manipulation of objects and his super speed are not things that we've seen in the Marvel Universe," Whedon says.

They cut to Elizabeth Olsen, who callls Wanda a "badass" while the footage cuts between shots of her casting spells and, at one point, a massive chunk of debris coming up from the ground around her and then exploding.

CW seems possible, and I would think that her and her brother could headline their own movie in Phase 4.

I don't think they'll be giving them their own movie. They're usually ensemble players so I expect them to be in Civil War and Infinity War.

Probably not, just saying if people feel that Black Widow should headline her own blockbuster movie I'd give a pass to the Twins first.
