Age of Ultron The Official Scarlet Witch Thread - Part 2

So Wanda is not going to physically fight ?? Throw punches, kicks and delivers blows?

Instead she will just use her magic powers, cast spells to do all the work for her.

Wanda will dance instead of fight. Black Widow will do the fighting.

Hulk and Thor sharing a pizza.

Scarlet Witch - "Come see this new dance move I learnt" *twerks*
Black Widow - *punches SW in disgust*

Haha, that has to happen.

Based on TWS I think that scene would work in reverse...I can't imagine Wanda twerking, let alone dancing. haha

Kinda disappointed with Wanda's costume.

I was expecting more red in her outfit, not just simply a red jacket.

Me too. But, it sounds like it doesn't make sense for her to have a "superhero" costume at this point in the story. If Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch return for future movies (which I would expect them to), I hope that Scarlet Witch gets a slightly more "superheroic" costume:

I'm not sure we'll see the head-gear, unless it's something that Wanda uses to focus her thoughts or powers. But, at the very least, I hope we see a sleek, long red coat which mimics a "cape". And a red body-suit under the cape.

G'day,

My objection to her current getup is its far to plain. A red jacket over a black dress is not a super hero costume. Capes are perfectly legitimate fashion items. She should keep it.A short dress is actually a good idea for Elizabeth Olsen's figure. She looks cute in the black dress, besides I'm tired of seeing super heroines in pants. The skirt should stay. Have a look at the picture below. It wouldn't take much to convert that to a Scarlet Witch outfit. Make it red, lower the neckline, add boots and a contrasting belt with the Avengers A on the buckle. Its done.

She'll probably be in something else for IW 1&2. More superhero but maybe not to the extent of her comics costume.

-Neither she nor QS are superheroes for a lot of this film apparently. So them wearing costumes makes no sense at this point.

-They're apparently orphans who were living on the streets until HYDRA came along. So I doubt being "fashionable" was anywhere near the top of their list of priorities.

G'day,

But Hawkeye does have a costume, its a personalized SHIELD tactical uniform, SW does not. Anyway I'm not suggesting she should be wearing the comic book uniform but she does deserve better then a red jacket.

Yes, it would clearly not be sexist to have all the male avengers in armor and SW in a corset and leather pants. Why oh why does Whedon want to hurt us with only a low cut, short dress?

Personally I"m cool wit her costume. Not just because both her and Quicksilver are wearing civilian outfits (characterizing outfits which is why Pietro is in flashy running gear while Wanda goes with something witchy) but because I'm far more interested in getting the character right than the clothes. And sine Wanda and Pietro can't be part of the Brotherhood and have Magneto as a father or feel mutant persecution, it sounds the MCU is still doing their best o give them sort of ambiguous position even once they turn heroes. They don't want to be the bad guys, they just disagree with the good guys and somehow or another they end up on the wrong side working for a dangerous maniac. It works.

Hawkeye's "costume" is essentially just SHIELD one. Because, you know, he worked for SHIELD for years (until very recently). Neither Wanda nor Pietro have, so even giving them something like that makes little sense.

Scarlet Witch - "Come see this new dance move I learnt" *twerks*
Black Widow - *punches SW in disgust*

Then SW vaporizes Black Widow (like the wooden blocks in the Winter Soldier post-credit scene). :woot:

Seriously, those two really shouldn't be fighting in the movie and Marvel really shouldn't include the usual girl vs girl fight like they did in GOTG (which made sense as Gamora and Nebula were evenly matched and had the sisterly love/hate dynamic). I want to see SW taking on Hulk, Thor, Cap and Iron Man. She's the first female super-powered character in the MCU and needs to be shown taking down one of the most powerful characters.

G'day,

Yes, why does Whedon want to bore us with an ordinary dress? She deserves something more flamboyant. Note: a couple of post previously I also suggested adapting a more striking dress into a costume. I don't mind sexy leather pants and hot little tops but I'll be happy with a capped dress.

Personally I don't like that dress or the images I get in my head from your suggestions. Based on what what we know of the twins at this point of the film, I really like SW's outfit.

*disclaimer* I have been told I have exactly zero sense of style.

She's not a hero or even a villain yet, she's just a very spacey chick with reality warping powers. Her clothes are her clothes until the next movie.

This, it's not a costume. It's her casual apparel.
Which is weird dress.
Which would probably make her an "out there" free spirit.
Which is hot.

I agree with everyone saying her attire is fine as is for the moment. There's really nothing wrong with either QS or SW so I'm fine with their wardrobe for the moment, especially considering they have yet to transition into superhero territory.

Patience, people.

I mean, she even said it's an origin story. They don't get a 5 minute montage of powers. Elizabeth Olsen has said that she's only just learning about her powers in this movie.

I think her outfit is appropriate for a young women in her early 20s. She will be adjusting to her new powers so an ordinary outfit is suitable. Plus we get to look forward to seeing her character develop in future movies until she is a super-hero (with an outfit to match). :woot:

Scarlet Witch has always dressed like a Hot Topic threw up on her though, so it is what it is.

I'm fine with her current outfit

Primarily because, if she gets a costume, it's probably gunna be some generic bodysuit like all the other MCU females have

So I'll take a leather Jacket and sundress over more formless overalls

G'day,

So it has been pretty much confirmed Scarlet & Silver are Inhumans, at least in the MCU. Interesting to see what happens to the comic book characters.
