Apocalypse The Official Sophie Turner/Jean Grey Thread - Part 2

Okay first off. I wasn't thrilled about Sophie being casted as Jean Grey. Famke Janssen was great and I miss her still...but! Just maybe we haven't seen the last of Jannsen as Jean Grey/Phoenix ;) I hope not.

Grandma Jean?

Famke turns 52 this year.

.... Seriously...you just found a bad...awkward picture of her and just had to post it? Is that supposed to turn me off? ... I have seen Famke recently...mostly pics but honestly, for someone who is in her early 50s...(im 31) I would still tap that. Hey, if i prefer mature women whether they be ten years older than me or more, I have no problem with that...even if I find them very attractive.

*shrugs* Anyway, that pic doesn't scare me. I'll always love Famke and there are countless other actresses I love too. Hell, Jennifer Garner is still beautiful.

I dunno, I guess I have a thing for women with horse faces...Whatever. Say what you will about most of them, they're still awesome.

It does bother me that in DOFP, we see Scott and Jean at the end and they don't look 50, let alone the age of 60 they should both be. Bah.

Sophie is my new girl crush:atp:

Their son Cable will probably look older than they are. :funny:

I guess Famke was right about ageism against women in Hollywood. She looked fantastic in How to Get Away with Murder! Most would kill to look that good in their 50s. And she looks more or less the same as she did in her 30s, just more mature.

Sophie was great in the role though. One of the only bright spots in this film.

I don't see what she was right about exactly, she was bitter she wasn't asked back for a role the same way Ian and Patrick were for DOFP and she is looking for some reason that faults Hollywood or the producers.

well ageism against women in Hollywood does exists. Thats a fact. However her words were misplaced as it wouldnt have made sense to use Jean in DOFP in that same capacity

The last shot Jean would have been perfect if she had her hair in a ponytail like in the animated series.

In the movie, its her best hairstyle, it just looks fabulous! :ilv:

I didn't like Sophie's hair when it was tied up.

That isn't a much better picture

Don't be jealous boo boo because you can't pull off the messy bun look like Queen Famke!

Speaking of hairstyles, I liked Jeans hair during the danger room part the best. It is nice when it's flowing free. I didn't like the tied back look in Egypt.

Famke looks gorgeoas.especilly for her age.i bet there are guys younger than her who wouldn't say no to her:ilv:

I hope rumor is true that she could make an appearance In Wolverine solo
film.

Sophie Is actress In Apocalypse I like most.although Olivia Munn is strong runnerup.

Same here.. I was hoping psylocke wouldn't bite the dust. Glad she didn't. She was great. Same with Sophie

Well he should have never left in the 1st place especially seeing how Superman Returns performed. IMO, he's a big part of the blame why we got that X3. People expected him to return and he abandoned it to direct another superhero film and even took James Marsden. Ugh.

I seem to remember Fox really oddly dragging their feet even officially green-lighting a third X-men movie, despite X2 being a critical and fan favorite hit. Most of the cast was sitting around and waiting and when it finally came time, a lot of them had other projects, hence the diminishing of many of the roles.

The original trilogy Fox didn't have much interest in. It was very bizarre. I'm so glad Tom Rothman is gone.

Should we expect they are building up to another Dark Phoenix film? If X-Men 7 is actually to be set in space should we expect a cosmic entity to be the catalyst?

Just curious what people are thinking.

So just double checking on things, but am I to assume that Sophie's Jean in "Apocalypse" is meant to eventually become the Famke version of Jean Grey that was scene in the "new future" at the end of DOFP?

I only ask because if we're to use that bookend scene from DOFP, then that means that Jean won't die in this new timeline as well from the Phoenix issue.

right, unless the timeline changes again (which I wouldn't rule out) the only people that may end up dying are Nightcrawler, Mystique, Magneto or Quicksilver. Personally I could see any one of those coming to pass.

It'll be like the 90s cartoon where no one ever dies.

No, they are not bound to that ending. Anything is game, especially with Brian Singer officially out as controller of the franchise.

I feel like it would be pretty stupid to undo the ending shown in DOFP. I mean it sort of devalues the whole struggle in saving the so called apocalyptic "future" in the first place.

Undoing the ending of DoFP would be to say there is any set future. The entire idea of the ending of the film is that there is no destiny. The choices people make are up to them. Thus anything could happen.
