Apocalypse The Official Sophie Turner/Jean Grey Thread - Part 2

Yeah, probably my favorite scene of hers in the film actually!

I also really liked her walking off the ledge and then levitating/walking on the air. It made for quite a unique visual.

From when she comes through the door (from the very first trailer I tried to guess who that was and guessed wrong lol), to her walking on the air was the best part of the climax for me.

I was so happy to finally get a psychic battle with Xavier after having missed out on it in First Class and I loved that that was where Jean landed the first blow.

I DO watch GOT, but I didn't have that problem either (and I never really do in-general).

Yeah she assaults him telepathically and then on the physical plane. Awesome stuff. Must watch the movie again. I was so taken aback that I remember very little of what took place during that scene! :woot:

Oh! I just remembered. What happened to the scene that we heard about where Jean holds Scott's head to help him aim his blasts? I was really looking forward to that.

Jean being done so well almost got me and my cousin emotional in the theater. I'm so happy it was in my lifetime I was able to see her really represented so beautifully.

I really loved her and this film despite its flaws.:ilv:

As much as I thought she did well in this film, I almost wish they had gone with an unknown bc I couldnt help but see Sansa Stark from beginning to end. She never felt like just Jean to me

She transformed into Jean she was nothing like Sansa...

That's like being mad the cast Cpt. Picard as Proffesor X or Xenia Onatopp as Jean Grey in the ot...:whatever:

Heh, yeah I made that my twitter banner and was disappointed it wasn't in the movie. Maybe it was just a promotional image?

From the earlier trailers the sky was a darker blue, it seems like they changed a lot of aspects the final battle. Maybe that's why some of the CGI looked a bit incomplete.

Still a cool image though.

I'm positive that the scene was in the trailer though. There's a shot in the (3rd?) trailer where Cyclops is shooting a blast at Storm and she evades it by running/jumping to the right side of the screen. If you look closely you can see someone behind Scott holding the sides of his head.

They definitely cut the fight down.

Cool, maybe we'll see it on the deleted scene then. I'll have to look at the trailer again

And one other thing...

Jean Grey in this one film>every other female superhero ever put on the big screen or small screen

Seriously.

I was really happy with Sophie's job as Jean. I was a bit concerned that she wouldn't be good enough to make the Sansa images go away but it turns out that she definitely is. Jean is a big part of why I'm looking forward to seeing another movie with these young X-Men. Her big act in the final battle is definitely my favorite power moment in the movie as well.

Not much competition, but I would agree.

Though I've liked Black Widow in both Cap films alot

You have to respect that she got to save the day, which is more than Black Widow or Scarlet Witch ever have.

Those suits look so much better when they don't have to deal with the Danger Room lighting.

This franchise is still falling short of servicing it's X-woman, but that one bit shows how great these characters are compared to other properties out there and this franchise cannot fail Storm, Jubilee and Psylocke again. Jean is great, but we need to start making our own Black Widows, Scarlet Witches etc.

they looked super dark in the film and not good. That gif I posted makes it look better than in the theaters

It’s seemed like the X-Men movies have always done so much better than the other superhero movies with having the female characters on the same playing level as the guys. This movie was definitely no exception either.

Sophie was great. I actually wish she had the lead instead of Mystique...Jennifer Lawrence looked downright bored with her role a few times in this one.

The last shot Jean would have been perfect if she had her hair in a ponytail like in the animated series.

And the scene with her rebuilding the mansion, she was in dark red. Foreshadowing? :D

For sure. I think Jean was the backbone of this film. Without her it wouldn't have worked, so with as much of a role as Mystique had, I think Jean was the overall more important character. Dare I say main character?
