at this point, I just want a movie that pleases all the other Superman fans...

Kak, you know that is cinematically impossible.

I know, but dammit... it really pisses me off that we havent gotten a good Superman movie in over 20 years, and the best thing that the WB can come up with is... Singer?...

Well some people would disagree on the validity of Singer as a director. You don't think that he can pump up some action in a sequel?

if his first film was so split, then why let him make another one? it's gonna be just as bad... and knowing Singer, since he can't think out of the box for Superman even if it killed him, we're probably gonna see a rehash of Superman II.

Giving him another chance is up to WB, and it looks like there is some differences there as to whether this should happen or not.

I personally feel if Singer is given the shot, which it looks like at this point, it will be a different story with pressure from WB to deliver Brainiac and more action.

well, at least someone is gonna have their movie...

Not true, we all have different perceptions of what is the ultimate Superman movie, and I don't think anybodys was Returns. Some embraced Singer's vision of Superman and some didn't.

that much is obvious...

sorry for the sour mood... I'm just not feeling the Superman love today.

You're making assumptions about what Singer is going to do. Just because you don't like the movie doesn't mean it's neither a good or valid movie. People are split on everything. There is nothing in this world that all people can agree on. I had a former student tell me that she thought that Citizen Kane was one of the worst movies she'd ever seen. Everyone's taste is different.

No problem. I didn't think you were being sour, always entitled to your opinion. Hopefully more so on The Hype than other boards. :cwink:

I have every right to make an assumption about it. I did the same thing with SR, and ya know what, IMO I was right.

never saw Citizen Kane

we can at least all agree that Superman is an overly positive hero...

If I remeber correctly you watched it 13 times before you started to dislike it. Which means you spent alot of time looking for things to pick apart.

Someone needs to stop pwning fools and get back to work drawing some Nightwing.

11 times...

and I disliked it from the beginning, but I didn't want to dislike it, because it was Superman... I was just in denial.

KAK, you of course have every right to your opinion, but wouldn't a sequel mean a chance to fix some of the things you didn't like about Returns? Brighter colors, lighter tones, lighting corrections and so on and so forth.

Whether a sequel is done by Bryan or the Whakoswki Bros mailman, isn't this what you would want to happen?

Now that Batman is supposedly in the JLA movie, is anyone else getting the feeling that the JLA movie will be made to close out the 2 Nolan Batman and the 2 Singer Superman films? I hope not, I want at least 3 Batman films from Nolan but I am very doubtful that will happen now with the news that Batman will be in the JLA movie and I really don't see both happening(3 Nolan Batman films and Batman in the JLA movie).

That was my contention all along, and I have said it previously. (I will never use the word contention again).

I believe that there will be two movies each for the characters followed by a Batman/Superman movie. It actually makes sense if you think of it, that Superman's sequel would be JLA related without Batman, and Batman vs Superman would round out the trilogy for both. Just a thought. :cwink:

I would support it, but everything Signer does in his movies is subdued...

and there's nothing subdued about Superman.

Well Batman is pretty successful, so you might see three movies plus Batman vs Superman, but maybe only two Superman movies plus the joining of the two characters. Who knows at this point.

Batman vs Superman could be an entirely different cast featuring an older Batman and Superman.

He definately grounded Superman into reality in Returns, I actually liked that take on it. I think the sequel will be a different story.
